    Hi all,

Great forum, been watching since the demise of SC, and since I haven’t had a Holden for a while, I’ve just been ogling at the nice Commodores.

That brings us to my latest car, which allows me to post here

1995 VS Holden Commodore Executive (non BT1)

    5.0 litre V8

    5 speed manual

    Live rear axle

I am the third owner, the two previous owners have babied for me. Reasonably low kms, 123,850, and never been on a dirt road.

The car has log books and all its history, and is in amazing condition.

    When I picked it up:

    <img id="__wp-temp-img-id" title="" src="<img src=”https://i.imgur.com/1qLOV7B.png” title=”source: imgur.com” />” alt=”” />

It also came with 15×7 steelies with dress rims, or the original hub caps for the plain jane look.

    Welcome aboard!

At the top of “Latest Posts” Gary has written a how to on the pics, pretty much just open the pic in FB then right click and copy the address and post it into the image box here, it’s the last box on the right of the toolbar the little box.

So coming up on two years of ownership of this Commodore.

Have done a few trips away and added several thousand kms to it all trouble free.

There has been a slight oil leak that ive been meaning to rectify, and from what i could see, it looked like an inlet manifold gasket leak.

Since i have no mechanical skills or training in this department, why not just have ago myself.

Off with its head (inlet manifold)

The gasket was leaking, so i did replace that.

Not all was smooth sailing, i did snap a inlet manifold bolt off in the head which was a prick to remove.

It also appears the water pump was on its last legs (a light tap with the screw driver resulted in a hole)

Whilst I was in there i replaced all heater hoses, radiator hoses, heater tap, water pump plug leads and spark plugs.

I also gave it all a good clean whilst it was apart.

It all went back together and has been working propery with no leaks, a satisfying success.

The car started to emit quite a strong fuel smell, so after some investigation, it appears all the fuel vapour hoses at the tank had all deteriorated.

So i dropped the tank out, replaced all hoses and also gave it a fresh lick of gloss black and silver tank straps.

Beautiful mate, I had pretty much the exact same car back in the day.  Mine was ex cop so had the full SS interior.  Great to see if getting the love and attention it deserves!!  Thanks for the update.

Not much been happening with the Commodore, just the odd cruise here and there.

I took it to a local Saturday night meet last weekend and I was chatting to a bloke and briefly mentioned i wouldn’t mind a set of VS Clubsport wheels.

“I think i have a set in my shed, they’re the 3 spoke ones aren’t they?” he said.

So arranged to meet him the next day, wheels were right ones, low ball accepted, and off I went happily.

    Clean up has began.

That’s the beauty of these cars, a nice set of wheels, a little lower, and bam, you have a nice cruiser.
