Good info about the handbrake rings but bit of a hassle cutting rotors up to get ring back out. Better off doing proper upgrade so no need for the rings.

yeah that was my thoughts in the end to Phire. May just see how much a mechanic will cost to change to VT handbrake following Gary’s instructions.

It could be easier too, I wanted to totally disassemble the rear suspension, replace everything and powder coat it, you may be able to do the swap over quicker if your not doing all that :)

You still running the ns400 pads up front? How are you finding the pad/rotor life so far? Now that my adapter brackets are useless and muppet lost one of my calipers I’ll be looking for new pads. Tossng up between the ns400 or the hc800 mu pads. If i don’t need the higher heat range I’d prefer to maintain more rotor life with the ns400

Has anyone had any experience with the UPC kits off ebay, or am I better off staying away from them?

Took the words out of my mouth Cav, i bought the 298mm kit and had to chase them for 2 weeks and still got the wrong parts. That being said once it was all fixed they are good value.

Yet somehow he is still in business

Gotta say my Willwoods were perfect.  Easy to deal with, no hassles, awesome brakes.

I think willwoods would be a bit overkill for my car haha

I’m with you Gary over kill on brakes is a good thing the six pots I had on the vk were killer especially when I had the race pads in ,, warm them up and make sure your seat belt was on  only down side they squealed on the slow stopping

Yea mine squeal like a boss at walking speed, its very annoying but then I know the flip side is they are awesome stopping.  It is a good feeling knowing you have great stopping power.  My 911 will put you through the windscreen if you stand on the brakes, so unfortunately I am a bit spoilt in that I expect it of anything I drive.

Ive just got a VT-VY 296mm front setup my VS

Front calipers were second hand out of a pretty low k car, and the rear is live axle so i was pretty limited there with options so i had the stock size rear calipers recondition

i fitted DBA Slotted front Rotors- the VS upgrade ones so there is no spacer needed for the hub, Bendix General CT pads front and rear and braided hoses instead of the standard rubber ones, also front and rear which included the rear one that runs between the diff assembly and the car itself

that setup works well for day to day driving, the only thing im thinking of doing is a VT-VY Brake booster and master cylinder upgrade

I always disliked the standard brake pedal on the VS models, VT style booster/MC helps to firm it up and reduce travel.

I’m putting the same combo as above on my VS senator but using QFM pads and going to fit the VS GTS vented rear rotor with matching caliper.

Have recently had willwoods fitted to my VS Clubby with the vt hand brake upgrade, have the low speed squeal issue, can’t fault the look or performance of the brakes though
