Posts: 5 777So when does it come and go, is it there under load, can you hear it driving, and at any speed? How about going at a constant speed then depressing the clutch?

Posts: 71It isn’t there under load, from what I can hear. I can only hear it at idle.
Even when revving it at neutral, I can’t hear it.March 18, 2015 at 9:25 pm #3013Iv seen a loose rocker do weird things before
Check before discounting it
Along with any other suggestions that is a simple check procedure
Things arnt alway like they seam, I know it seams like it should make noise all the time but myth busters have been majorly supprised before as well

Posts: 32Is this a vs 5lt with the adjuster pulley for the air con? Brothers pulley on his 5lt shat itself sounded like that and similar times especially at its worst on cold starts.
May be worth taking the belt off see if it goes away?

Posts: 71I reckon it’s coming from the rear of engine. But I will still do all checks…

Posts: 18Like above, a loose rocker could cause issues like that.
I have also seen rockers tap against the rocker covers at certain rpm too, the 5L rocker covers if not tensioned correctly can slide down slightly causing contact between the tip of the rocker and the cover.
