Nah no ac for me. Just heater will keep me happy. In regards to mounting the W2A. Keep it hard up to the rad as possible?

October 25, 2015 at 3:50 pm #10573Yep I’d see if you can get an exchanger the same dimensions as the Rad if possible, no AC helps a lot!
October 25, 2015 at 4:14 pm #10574Yeah no ac helps heaps.
Plan was to mount it like this on a slight angle.
Utalize both those tabs in the top corners.
Then ask to have a thread on the bottom so I can drop it into theses holes and use larger washers and nuts to pull it down.
October 25, 2015 at 4:14 pm #10575Was thinking that top tab maybe I can use those cable tie things to mount it through that hole.
October 25, 2015 at 4:43 pm #10576You’d want it as parallel as possible to the Radiator so the Air get’s a nice straight shot through both..
October 25, 2015 at 5:01 pm #10577So go slightly smaller and mount directly to the Rad with those cable tie brackets. Will they be strong enough? M
or should I space it 40mm from the rad and go bigger.
October 25, 2015 at 5:12 pm #1057840mm would be bad far too big a gap and it might disrupt the air through the Radiator, you could buy 2 packs of the cable tie things so 8x and it’ll be fine, I used 6x for my big Oil cooler.
October 25, 2015 at 5:55 pm #10580So w2A hard up to rad and trans cooler hard up to w2a
where is that article about the distance between that u posted ages ago.
October 25, 2015 at 6:23 pm #10581I’d try and find somewhere else for the Trans cooler and give the W2A and Rad priority, I think Gary posted a pic of his mounted off to the side, Sorry didn’t keep the link unless it’s buried in my thread somewhere.

Posts: 5 777Yea my trans cooler is in front of rad but i am not going FI. Passenger side is where i have engine oil cooler, but would be good spot for trans cooler on this.
October 25, 2015 at 6:42 pm #10583Where will your inlet and outlet be if the W2A is between the rails ?

Could cut a pair of holes in the box section to the side of the radiator and run the hose in through grommets easily enough.
In the Tonner I ran mine W2A>Trans and Engine Oil side by side>AC>Radiator with the Power Steer cooler mounted below…. it worked just not well and wasn’t happy in traffic.. just far too much thermal load for the amount of Airflow, a VR is worse due to the smaller frontal area.
October 25, 2015 at 7:20 pm #10593Yes could easly cut holes in the side radiator supports, could also have the 2 hoses coming foward and just go around and under the rails
they only need to be 40mm or what ever size water pipes you run if you did cut holes
also so just out of curiosity have you thought about having just enough room between the 2 so you could fit a thermo fan to back of water to air radiator??
Wouldnt need it it all the time but there is the option if it is needed at times
October 25, 2015 at 7:25 pm #10594Water lines are 20mm. I’ll run them facing forward.
Fan on the back will impede flow. It will use the single SPAL 3000cmf on the back of the radiator.
I don’t like how PWR didn’t shroud it. So I’ll have to make one.

Posts: 5 777Driven mine in 40+ degrees wih my unshrouded pwr. They make F1 rads, trust them.
October 25, 2015 at 7:44 pm #10597I’ll be watching this!
Do you know if the lsa is going to fit under the bonnet without having to cut a hole or run any type of scoop?
October 25, 2015 at 7:48 pm #10598If he buys the Caddy Blower lid it has a good chance of fitting under the stock bonnet.
October 25, 2015 at 8:08 pm #10599I REALLY hate the caddy. But I hate reverse cowls even more. I hope it fits under the Group A scoop I already have. I can accept that
October 25, 2015 at 8:08 pm #10600Yeah foward would work nicely
yeah i see they are not shrouded on the pwr radiators and doesn’t look the best designer but they do seam to work, surely a good shroud designe would work better though
yeah Iv have heard how it does mess with flow having spaces between them, was just a idea with second fan between them but I don’t really know how flow would work like that
October 25, 2015 at 8:21 pm #10602I’ll give it a test as is before I fork out and make a shroud
The converter in this won’t be any near what the old VR was so I should be sweet with trans cooler under the guard.
