You should just run it more so you can actually feel how fast your car is when it hooks up.. you’ll be surprised. plus it gives you a baseline then to work from, first time out won’t be perfect no matter how hard you try…
Just get some drag radials or your just wasting your time on street tyres.. 340rwkw through a th400 got me 131mph in my ss…

Posts: 5 777What sort of potential et is that? Btw a guy I know is building a VP with L98, and he put it over a weighbridge and came in at just over 1400kg, no idea what a VR like mine would be though…

Posts: 535I’d think you’d be a bit heavier than a VP with the Senator been a luxo barge really plus he would have an alloy block where yours is iron on the plus side the Glide should be a bit lighter than your original trans.
I think the kerb weight of a VR Senator is about 1600kg.

If you can move it off the line like a 10.4-10.5… I had a really poor 60′ around 1.9 sec so only ran best of 11.1… that was first time racing the car. Yours would have to be close to 1600kg I think mine would be the same but haven’t weighed it yet either…

Posts: 5 777Interested in seeing what sort of rpm I would be pulling at those sorts of speeds with my diff and set of 275 et streets. Any of you know any good online calculators I can start having a look at that?
Btw, the other reason I would like to go to the drags is I am itching to actually do a bit of a burn out without having to stress about being on a public road and who’s watching (not that I have ever done one of course!!)

Posts: 5 777I have 275’s on there now, but admittedly on a 17″ rim. I chose my brakes as the rears will fit a 15″ rim, so I plan on getting a pair of 15×10″ interceptors made up with 31p offset, and I was going to run 275/60/15 tyres, as I thought sidewall was good to try and help it hook up. But is that not right?

Posts: 535Yep, you want a high profile tyre so the side wall has a bit of give.
September 21, 2016 at 6:32 pm #19832<p style=”text-align: left;”>Yea of course more sidewall… but they are 28″ tall. Probably be a good 2″ taller than what you have now… I hope they fit then I’ll get some haha</p>
September 21, 2016 at 6:37 pm #19833No way you will fit a 275 et radial.
Get a 255. Just worry about the mph it runs first time. Not et.
Mph will prove how much power it’s making.
My SS was 1600kg. I rekon this is heavier. Possibly 1700

Posts: 5 777Only thing now is the tail pipes over time and heat cycles have shifted a little so they dont look dead perfect. The ocd part of me says it needs to up on the hoist at some stage and I think a bit of cutting/shutting/aligning is in order to get them perfecto

Also see what you mean by the tail pipes. Still looks sweet though.

Posts: 5 777Well tbh it doesn’t faze me driving it when its that clean, I really believe cars are for driving not hiding, I mean naturally I am a bit more careful when I do following behind people etc. It does have the odd small issue here and there which is simply as its on the road a bit. Def tail pipes are pretty ordinary, but I ran out of time before the show today so will have a crack at them after that
September 24, 2016 at 1:32 pm #19874Looks great. Still can’t get over how well those back wheels turned out!
