    Yeah myn isnt to bad while cruising as well, I definetly know what you mean just enjoying it, I’m doin the same, I got real  enthusiastic yesterday and lifted my PCM off the floor stuck it in the glove box, took me a whole of 30 seconds and I thought yep that is that job done lol

    we tryed my varex closed yesterday and looked on logs while cruising and it seamed to all be ok and didn’t affect anything AFR or temp wise but it’s strictly a cruising thing only while seeing the boys in blue

    my make it’s quite as, just a heap of engine noise from front of car

    I think I have a dyno sheet somewhere, you don’t get one with the engine when you buy it, just an estimate.

    This is the initial Willall tune.  But this is not with the glide and 4 into 1’s.  Actually I don’t remember getting a sheet off Bells once we went back to 98, but I remember him saying it made slightly more than it did at Willall when it was on E85.  I am guessing what I lost going to 98 it picked up with the better headers and maybe the glide has less parasitic losses maybe?  But a dyno sheet is just a number anyhow.

    was talking about the engine dyno. Not chassis.

    Yea looks about right, at the time only thing I could find was this, but its a bit basic.  Depends too on how its set up too with induction and exhaust.  I remember reading a couple of guys making around 650 on an engine dyno, and consensus was the quoted hp was conservative.  I’ts also a very baby cam, but its all academic really.

    Well def a clogged filter.  Not sure its obvious from this pic, but the difference is really quite marked.  Got it all finished off about 3 and just went for close to an hour and half drive up through the Barossa, no issues at all, pumps whisper quiet.  Actually touch wood I cant break it, seems solid as, gave quite a bit from time to time, at different speeds etc and I am really starting to get a feel for the power and what its wanting to do.  So this week will organize a near pair of rear tyres, and wheel alignment.  The rear negative camber when I actually look now is very noticeable.  Just seriously the most fun to drive, happy days :good:

    Mate awesome build!!! Noticed your ratchet shifter install. I want to put a ratchet shifter in my ute. The way you have done it is very clean, love it. I have got a drop down box and hope to do something similar. How did you get the lights to activate in gear position indicators?

    Hi mate, thanks very much.  The gear position indicator set up uses an electronic kit from Dakota Digital.  Back on page 37, post #12,673 I have more detail on how I did the lights etc.  But this is the basics;

    O i missed the bit on using the dakota sender unit, after seeing your post and researching i figured thats what you most likely used!

    Love the look you have with looking standard but not quite! Much nicer than just hacking a ratchet shifter in. Was thinking of mounting the led gear indicator they sell in the dash some place as well

    I am really happy with it.  I also cut off the reverse lockout lever and re-welded it after moving it across in line with the main shift lever so you don’t need to cut a slot for it in the console.    I only thought of doing this after I had fitted the shifter, so I did it in the car which was a bit of a pita.  If I did it again I would have done that when the shifter mechanism was out of the car so I could do it at the bench.  Full details of the mod are back on page 31, post #11285, but this is the basic mod.

    On another note, one for the CP brains trust.  So currently on the rear I have 275/40/17, but I reckon 295’s would fit also.  So anyone suggest a tyre that’s nice and sticky but not a million $$?  Be nice to start trying to work out how to get some traction out of it ;-)

    Cornering sticky. The plan has always been to get a pair of 15×10 steelies made up for some ET streets or whatever for the quarter. A big part in the decison with going the Willwoods I have is they are 4 piston rears but will fit a 15″ rim so I can get some sidewall for the drags. Now i would like a set of 4 semi race tyres for the rims i have so i can start to see what it steers like. So i want something to suit 17×8 front and 17×10 rears.

    The Federal 595rsr’s I use on the back of the Lexcen are sticky as and reasonable price.

    If you plan to go straight buy a radial. Don’t try and do both with 1 tire
