Posts: 5 777Tbh pretty happy to be amongst the quality of those other cars, I reckon mine would be close to the only real driver maybe?

I saw that come up too, time flies right. Bloody love that car, not sure why, it’s only making about 100kW, but just cool to cruise in.

Posts: 5 777Wow, looks like Commodores Plus has its first 100,000 view thread. Given I created this forum I am pretty bloody proud of that!! (I know that’s self indulgent!!)

Posts: 5 777Hi Frazer, should maybe be able to, although I have it over at a secret squirrel location. while I do the Kombi. But as it turns out I thought its time to fire it up and take it for a drive. So had it on charge today. This is the first fire up for a few months, apologies the video is a little dark. But I think its a bit angry I have been ignoring it
April 19, 2020 at 8:14 pm #31969Isn’t it a fan of cold starts?

Posts: 5 777Never has been Cav. I think it’s a down side of the ITB’s. Once it’s warm it’s sweet as.

April 19, 2020 at 9:36 pm #31973Cold starts are one of the most difficult areas of the map to tune as you really only get one go per 24 hour period, the factory does such a good job everyone takes it for granted…

Hadn’t thought of it that way, makes perfect sense. I guess too by the time you have changed the map, the engines warmed up a bit.

April 20, 2020 at 9:00 am #31979Yep, the second it fires everything after isn’t a cold start, really hard thing for Tuners to get right, it’s something I tweak myself as it takes so much time..

Posts: 5 777We sure take modern cars for granted. Hot, cold, rain, shine whatever, hit the key and they start and purr. They also use no fuel and are incredibly reliable.

Posts: 535A workmates brother in law worked for GMH. He drove around in vehicles fitted with industrial dataloggers that monitored everything. The vehicles were his daily drivers so they they get bulk data for every part of driving in real world use.

Posts: 5 777Just had a chance to take it out for a decent drive at lunchtime (some benefits in Iso). Prob first good drive since it tried to kill me. Did a plug change first as I hadn’t done that since the dyno runs etc. Started great, let it warm up and just beautiful. Man, I never tire of driving this thing. Really strong lumpy idle, actually relatively docile at cruise speed, but holy crap, just even squeeze the loud pedal and its just invades all the senses. Did the obligatory small burn out (on a private road), basically just off idle, would have easily just blown the tires off if I wanted without going anywhere near the limiter. Happy days, love it.
