VIN numbers?

Any one know how to tell what Make VU commodore ute by a VIN number??? like VU SS to VU HSV.

I know it should be simple but i’v never had much to do with late model commodores… Am looking at buying a Hsv but have a gut feeling it maybe otherwise (possibly “SS”)as it hasn’t got a HSV biuld plate in the engine bay!

An alot of things have been upgraded thru the car like brakes an suspension, so making it alittle harder

 

Any help would be great.

Not sure about the later model stuff but I know with VR/VS. IF you do a ppsr(rego) check on the vin it will come up as a berlina or exec as that’s the base model.

 

Then to confirm the HSV part you have to do a HSV check.
