Posts: 81I was going to clean the door molds first and put them on but I like the look without them. The pin stripe fills the door mold void.
I also had a look at the rear boot badge today that I’m getting remade. It looks perfect and solid. Just have to get colour on it. Trying to get a few extra made if anyone is interested.
Also trying to get the inside door latch and door lock surrounds remade out of metal.

Car is coming out nicely.

Posts: 81Another update on the Commodore badge.
The rear Commodore badge is pretty much done. Looking to get my hands on about 10 of these (maybe more).
Here’s a few pics – let me know your thoughts
Top one is the original
If anyone is interested let me know. PM me here or better yet send me an email at sle881 (at) hotmail.com
Price will depend on how many people are interested but I’ve been told to expect about $150-$170
I’m also looking at getting my hands on the following so the badges all match.
Boot SLE badge
Boot lock Holden badge
Commodore front bar badges
Front grille Holden and SLE badges
SLE steering wheel badge
Also trying to get the chrome internal door latch and door lock surrounds

Posts: 81Badge is same height but 2mm longer. I’m told that this will be fixed when they make the final badge, this was one just made up to get the colouring right.
Can’t wait to have these fitted to the car.

Posts: 81They used to but not any more.
They sell the SLE and Holden emblem badges only and I believe all the badges apart from the rear boot lock badge are plastic.

Have you given up on the bumper moulds?

Posts: 81I’ll try again with the bumper molds once I get the badges sorted. Hopefully the guy getting the badges for me can point me in the right direction.

Posts: 81Took the car out with my wife and 3 year old on Saturday. First time they went in the car and they loved it.
Saturday night I went for a drive and met up with a few guys that are trying to start a monthly meet in Rydalmere, NSW.
It’s called “Chrome ‘n’ Hardware”
It’s a gathering of all old school muscle with the exception of early 80’s Falcoms and Commodores and such.
At this stage it looks like it will be a monthly event (3rd Saturday of every month) at the McDonalds/Bunnings on Victoria Rd Rydelmere.
I’ll post a reminder for the next one if anyone is interested.
Here’s some of the cars there on the night next the the VH

Posts: 81No updates as yet. I’ve been busy with work and family to follow up on the badges. I’m hoping I’ll have them soon. The rear of the car looks weird with the gap in the pin striping with no badges. Every time I take her out I get asked why the pin stripes stop there.
Car has been sitting in the garage collecting dust for almost a month. Hoping to get it out this weekend for a wash and a drive. I have been looking at replacing the front and rear speakers as they’re all sounding a little crackly. Looking at sticking with the same size speakers, no cutting of the parcel tray just a direct drop in.

Haha, thats funny. Did you see someone else making the badges on FB?
I got the SL/E grille badge from rare spares, will have it tomorrow. Interesting to see how it is. Will your boot badges come with a sticky backing?

Posts: 81No sticky backing. Have to do that myself. I asked about it, It can be done but added too much to the cost.
I saw the guy on FB making his own. His are plastic, I think he just repaired an old one rather than make a new one.
