VH SLE ID tag

Can anyone tell me what this car should have?

From what I can see it was originally a 253 with trimatic and 3.08 diff. What I’m confused about is that the car is A one colour Indigo blue but I think the tag indicates it should be Mercury Silver.

Any ideas?

that tag says

1990-29y = single tone with indigo blue interior

2j011-d = mercury silver

 

if it were shadow tone the 1990 shud be 4005 i think or the paint line could have paint/paint

maybe its been resprayed? or the tags not original to the car?

Yeah, It’s definitely been resprayed but wasn’t told about the colour change. That and the fact the tags are no longer in the same place is turning me off purchasing the car.

Yer the way the tags are mounted and the rivets used suggests something suss straight away :/

I didn’t go ahead with the sale. I’m sure everything was fine but There were a few warning signs that made me feel uncomfortable.
