I want the VB front end I collected all the chrome parts when I had the green VB , also I like the gille flutes in the VB bonnet not the plastic one in VH
As for the actuator , the solenoid is controlled by the ecu so in factory car it can control , speed , in reverse gear , abuse, some temperature issues , certain revs in first gear there is more can not remember
so remove the solenoid but keep the other part and hook it up to vacuum -boost then will just work as a bypass valve without ecu interfering

August 9, 2020 at 4:59 pm #32707Gotya, just never seen anyone do the retrograde, I prefer the VB bits, when the VH came out it was a bit “cheap” and plasticy.. not to mention it still had the VB stylelines under the wrap around lights..

I had this plan from the start if the green Vb was good enough I would have kept it but was not meant to be I have kept a lot of the good stuff from the VB and sourced other old bits, not a lot of people will know the difference from VH-VB specially with all the rear and front chrome
August 9, 2020 at 5:57 pm #32709Cool, I had a VB and much preferred it to the VH, need to change the thread title..

Yeah I no how it works. I’ve got factory ecu so mine is still all hooked up.
Just make sure you do it right or it will bleed boost.

Posts: 775Hi all well had a play last weekend found a damaged Ba falcon bonnet cut the bracing out of it then trimmed the bulge out from the damaged parts , zinced primed the VB bonnet and guards fitted them with a couple bolts they fit 120% better than the reproduction panels
cut the hole in the bonnet for blower then sat the BA bulge on looks like it will work

December 30, 2020 at 2:25 pm #33320Hi, what style of fuel pump are you planning on running. I have a VK with LS L98 engine and using an external bosch 044. Have the reg up on the fuel rail so running return from engine back to tank. It works fine but it is quite noisy especially after driving for a bit as the fuel starts to heat up. Was thinking of some other options. Keen to hear what other people with early commodores are doing.

Hey Dave if you look back on the thread i have a A.I fuel hanger and two 460 walbro pumps to go in a custom tank that i will be making… but a long way off from that part of the build
I had two o44 in my vk! they made a bit of noise but the tooth belt from the supercharger stopped that noise

Check out my thread Dave, I went with a Walbro 460 in the factory hanger inside a VN 5L tank. Reg is mounted above the diff, single -6 line to the rail, same as the factory LS dead head style system. Only hear it when I turn the key and let the system prime before I start it.
