May 1, 2016 at 5:26 pm #16500Nice mate end of the day they commodores not a one of Ferrari, do as you please with it. Your ride your way. Will look mint in that colour!! Be a nice build thats for sure
+1 for this ^^^^
When other people are paying for it then they can tell you how to do it. Looks like you’re on the right track so far!
May 1, 2016 at 5:58 pm #16502Thanks every one, appreciate it a lot
yep that’s it, I’m not one to be persuaded much when I come up with ideas unless it’s better then I have in mind, cava did eventually make me see the light with a certain set of tail lights lol
but yep I have a fearly clear picture of what I want with this car, unlike my last build that just constantly got out of hand lol
so today we painted a shit load of small bits, door handles, mirrors, rest of rear spoiler, boot hinges, bolts, back part of boot and few other bits
so now the back end is fitted and is awaiting me to prime it
also got 1 door striped and sanded also ready for primer, this time after Iv primed it, I’m sanding 90% complete then painting back side and doin same to car and painting around door frames then fitting doors and painting door skins with the rest of car
can an see the 3 rd pic is the area where Iv doin all my fibre glass work
4th pic is same just backed up a little
so so just rear spoiler, doors and the car it’s self left to go
May 1, 2016 at 6:08 pm #16505If it doesn’t meet my criteria. I will still Judge you.

May 1, 2016 at 8:20 pm #16518Haha not napping actually
robby is on his way down though, he is in GC and heading to Sydney tomorrow, he stoped in here on Friday Before he continued on
maybe next year after I put big tyres on distroy my clutch put a better one in and get the car to actually be fast down the 1/4 and not just spin the tyres constantly
actully talking about the manta I broke the dash in it the other week spun the tyres till it eventually grabbed traction and snapped my dash facia and it fell out in 2 pieces
thinking super glue and few spots of sicaflex for a quick half assed fix lol
May 1, 2016 at 8:36 pm #16520spun the tyres till it eventually grabbed traction and snapped my dash facia and it fell out in 2 pieces
Ha ha nice.Hope i have that problem with power down, dash breakage when mines sorted.
Very nice daily btw.

Posts: 5 777^loving the pic of the house mate, that’s some serious man cave action you have going on there
And don’t worry, kinda feel pretty sure Cav will be keeping it real and telling it like it is. Well that’s if he is not actually spending time on his rig…..
May 2, 2016 at 3:16 pm #16542the rig is tip top.
The automobile is another story
May 2, 2016 at 8:35 pm #16550So got last parts primed up ready for final wet rub and paint
so turned my attention to the shell now, striped it out so I can rust proof the shit out of it and paint inside with some sort of black thick paint, maybe sound deadner or something
she’ll is in excellent condition, it is 100% percent and can not find a single part damaged at all
a better pic of the work area for you Gary

Posts: 5 777^^digging the view mate, be cool looking at that working on the Monaro
May 4, 2016 at 5:48 pm #16569I’m on one hell of a mission to get this car done
i picked up up the gun my self again as backs of doors are not overly important and I like to have a little of my own laid down paint on my car lol
really happy with how my interia parts turned out, paint is flat as for been straight of the gun
aslo decided to do the dash parts in cherry black as well
ordered a heap of black leather and Warwick suede in a dark maroon colour, I have a heap of black suede here
Also decided I’m sticking a decent stereo in it, not ballistic just nice, will be a bit of a mix as I have a few bits from old stereo I may use but been 6 speaker system and I’ll throw a sub in it should be nice to listen to the news while driving
got as much of inside car painted with black rust proofing that I could possibly get a brush into

May 7, 2016 at 10:43 pm #16676So still goin flat out on this machine
so much work involved in painting a car
anyway got car primed then sanded that for a whole eternity then masked it up painted the door jams and as much around engine as I could so now the doors go back on tomorrow then final sand the whole lot and hopefully we have sourced a proper spray booth to paint it in
also so wrapped hood lining and heap of other bits in suede

Posts: 5 777Looking fantastic mate, when it comes time to prep/paint the Kombi might have to pick your brain a little
May 8, 2016 at 1:52 pm #16694That kombi will be hard as with the massive side walls on it
big solid sanding blocks about 600mm long and about 400 hours prep work if you want it nice and not wripple like so many are
