Hey all i require some urgent help in regards to my gf’s vs exec!! The front passenger door is jammed shut…ive tried everything i could by pulling the lock thread up with battery connected/ disconnected, locking, deadlocking etc…it feels like the lock has packed up and is stuck in deadlock…except the passenger door doesnt have a outside key lock.
Now she had told me that her work mate went to get in one day and the door wasnt closing like the lock was engaged and hitting the doot striker. Then she pushed the door softly for the lock to engage and stay locked for she was at work….now it wont unlock, or open from the inside and outside….

Apon further investigation ive been trying all weekend to get this fixed and came across a rather daunting issue…

the top star screw looks like its come undone and is jammed against the striker plate…but unsure if the door is locked or unlocked still? As the door lock never went into the “unlocked” position….have also tried the gf holding the doot handle up and me inside shouldering the door and didnt move!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated :) cheers

Shit mate, you are in a spot of bother. First thing I would be trying is spraying tons of lube spray around the area to at least see if it can help it slide a little. Then its got to be the biggest screw driver you can get in there and try to gently but firmly spread it a little while someone on the outside holds the door handle open, and someone else on the inside tries to push the door open maybe even with their feet against the trim?

Haha yeaaa i was gonna do that but there is not even enough room to get a 5c peice in!!
Rather drastic but was considering banging the pins off the rear passenger door and removing that so i have better access to cap screw…..
Shits fucked man either that or a try go in from the inside of the door trim
Mind you im trying to do all of this causing a minimum ammount of damage

Leave the back door alone, really think you have to somehow spring it open (the gap), wont need much, 1mm would do it (and a good shove)

True!! Leave it with me…..see how i go :)
Only thing that worries me is if the door is locked or not?? As the locking knob doesnt go up or down which makes me think its a combination of a packed up lock (which was the original problem i think) and the screw gradually un-lossening itself to now make it jammed

You might have to sacrifice the door trim, you will need to tear/break it away to get to the lock mechanism. But maybe that’s the simplest/cheapest/easiest part to replace? If you can get that off around the lock you can get to it so much easier, let me see if I can dig up a pic.

This is not mine, but you can see where you need to get too.

Alright heres an update!! Managed to get the door trim off and get to the actuator….it turns out it was the lock that was knackered because you could shut the door and re-open it but as soon as you locked it and pulled the handle its like the lock slips and goes into deadlock and then cannot open it…..so i gotta go from the inside of the door to pop the lock from the inside….what a pain in the arse
