Hi guys looking at doing a few more upgrades with my motor before i stroke it.

Will i get much of a gain from ditching the banana manifold and changing to a torque power dual plane.

I would be looking at running a bigger throttle body probably 80 – 92mm.

Im wanting to get some lowdown torque before the sc kicks in at 3000 -3500rpm.

Any feedback from people who have played around with manifolds would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Standard 304, cam has been swapped out for a senator cam not sure on specs.

Currently running 9psi with current Raptor centrifugal charger.

    Non intercooled.

What others specs do you need?

Dual plane won’t Be any better then the bananas …

Correct stall and diff gearing will help.

Ok so i have upgraded the diff to 3.7s what stall would be best suited and what are the major differences in changing the stall?

I guess from what i have read is that the dual planes will help with increasing the rpm flow from 600 – 6000 rpm but how would that work in with a sc that comes on at 3000rpm?

Would i be just wasting money for no gain?

A lot of money for little gain IMO. You also need to find the cam specs. A 284 crane works very well with boosted 304’s.

Converter bringgs the the revs right into its power band. If your saying its doughie below 3000 I’d look at a 3000-3500 stall. It will bring revs right into the sweet spot when Uou stand on it. Ideall u want 2-300rpm more stall then the rpm peak torque was made.

As a 5 litre manifold change be very little to no gain.Larger throttle body wont do that much as manifold neck part is chokes flow.

Minimum gain but cheap is matchport throttle to neck area or as some do chop neck off reweld flange to front of bananas kind of like ls1 manifold.

Once you go stroker yeah manifold change will be better than bananas but also dont be surprised it’s hit limit of raptor.

5 litre engine,3000-3500rpm stally,3.7 gears something like 284 cam & retune or memcal off 2inil8 .Compression bump could work out well for if e85 available but easier to leave as is simple & easy.

See if raptor is at it’s limit then or too much heat.

TBH going stroker will give you more torque down low but your setup end strangled out of puff up top then you’ll need to redo everything else to match.

I’d go a bigger blower, 10-12psi an Intercooler(must only eyes) before I went stroker manifold etc.

    then e85 if avaiable

Yeah that is something i have thought about just didn’t know how much the motor could handle without a rebuild.

The stock motors aren’t as bad as you think. I ran 11psi non intercooled with an eaton m112 blower for years with no issues on a std 5 litre. A good tune is what you need most of all.

Thats pretty good numbers with only 11psi.

I might start making a few calls to see what it will cost to change pulleys etc.

Don’t push more boost without and intercooler. IMO 8psi is the limit. The IAT will start getting high and the Ecu will pull a bucket of timing out of it.

Yeah quite a few intercooled vortech 5 litres ran 11’s years ago, small cam, decent sized stally & gears away they went almost common recipe then trend became to turbo.
