Has anyone got front and rear tow hooks fitted for CAMS track days? Trying to work out a neat way of fitting it to the VS.
August 27, 2015 at 8:40 pm #8776Thought about straps instead of solid hooks?
August 27, 2015 at 9:39 pm #8778seen vr gts at last super sprint round at the creek he had a soft sling & d shackly hanging out small hole on front bar,not sure what he had on back.Soft sling is a lifting type strap, nobles whethrill park help you out,can get a lot of places, safety ,truck parts, lifting shops theres a few around,be a short sling, may be a meter, greens 2t. Didn’t seem to have flogged bar either, was just sitting there.
August 27, 2015 at 10:14 pm #8779thank’s for the reply guys, I ordered 2 red bolt on straps earlier in the week and I’ll cut a slot in the bumper and have it hanging out. Easy to fibreglass the holes back up if I ever need to.
Who was running the super sprint?

I use a nylon tow strap at the front (available most motorsport places) which is bolted to a chassis bolt ( that also is where the front bumper bolts to) and on the back a steel CAMS hook that goes thru the bumper and is bolted thru the rear chassis rail. Looks like this..

Posts: 5 777Man I soooo want to do that one day. Guy at work here has a VR 5L manual with a bizzilion km’s on it. Would be the base of a great club circuit car. Problem is I need to live three lifetimes to do all the stuff i want
August 28, 2015 at 12:31 pm #8803DOH, something else to go on my to do list…
I have a couple of straps there so will do the front like Smitty has, need to pull the rear bumper off and have a look at the structure behind it as I had to remove the tow bar when the Fuel Cell went in..
August 28, 2015 at 3:03 pm #8811cheers guys, appreciate the photos. will get getting stuck in fitting them next weekend and post pics up.
Track days are great fun, just finding the time and who runs them at a reasonable price is the challenge haha. Oh and the list of mods that go to the top of the list immediately following a track day…
