Isn’t there a snap ring that holds that whole assembly in the casing?  I’d imagine those bolts are only to hold that sub assembly together.

For counter sunk bolts I find a ratchet and hex adaptor works much better than just an allan key as you can control the force load/direction much better and 99% less chance of rounding out the sucker :-)

Yes there is, when it failed it broke the splines off so the snap ring was floating around doing not a lot…

Yep I use a mini torque wrench extension a socket and a Hex key, no probs.

    Tarmac on the 29th!

    ————————

Went this morning and had a “FML” moment… There was a puddle of Trans oil under the car… DOH..

Put it up in the air and it looked to be leaking at the same place as last time, turns out in fact some Tard (me) missed a couple of sump bolts.. all good now!

Swapped the rear springs out and found the reason for last month’s aberrant handling at the Autocross event..

Turns out that Tard was at it again and somehow instead of adjusting the right rear shock to 0 had wound it up to full stiff… DOH 2 (At least it was driver error this time)

Modded my front splitter to work with the Autocross Sump guard, just makes the conversion a bit easier.

I reckon this thing would look so cool stickered up.  I know your not going too, but would look very cool.  Its looking way better now its all getting sorted for some reason too.

I actually bought one of those stickers but could bring myself to put it on it!  Toyota race team, wouldn’t need much, diagonal red stripe?

That was on the short list for paint schemes Gary!

Shakedown complete, ALL gears present and accounted for, also made the new Handbrake Handle so I’m good to go for the Tarmac event at the end of the month!
