Haha sounds good. Lol
September 4, 2017 at 7:35 pm #24302Last year we just did 2 Tarmac events this year there will be minimum 3 possibly 4 and I’ll run it at the Geelong Revival Hillclimb so I’ve invested in some much stiffer springs as last year I just ran the soft autocross setup and it was compromised.. (still fast but wallowed around like the Titanic)
September 5, 2017 at 2:31 pm #24304September 5, 2017 at 3:11 pm #24305I expect some of that when I eventually come past.

Have to test these things… didn’t want to tear up the yard too much though

Posts: 5 777Hey IJ, I am looking at getting myself a scissor lift table like you have there. Do you know what weight yours is rated too, 350kg?? And yea just re watched the vids, does look like you were having trouble with the trans?
September 25, 2017 at 1:51 pm #24609Yeah smashed something to death in the Loop, my own fault I wasn’t there to run the Motorkhana as I suspected something like this might happen.. the 1/4 mile timer was playing up and I sat in a line for 45 minutes so decided to have a crack.. it now has 1st and reverse, I’ll know what’s broken in about an hours time.
That one is 500Kg Gary, I have a 350 but it struggles with the entire powertrain as I remove it so boght this one.

Posts: 5 777Thanks Ian, I guess yours is a bit heavier than mine would be though being AWD? Or do you think its worth paying the extra and going 500kg? Bummer about the box, I reckon I put a jinx on you chatting about it before!!
September 25, 2017 at 4:02 pm #24613Yours is Cast Iron so not sure, I’d go for the big one from memory there’s little to no different in price..
——————–
Autopsy complete..this is a new one in the long list of 4L60E failures I’ve experienced..
It’s torn the Splines out of the Case… I have a spare Case there Donated by a mate so it’ll be a fairly “cheap” rebuild as the rest of the internals are Mint.

Posts: 5 777Shit, that’s a hell of a failure.
September 25, 2017 at 5:08 pm #24616The Track was really grippy the new transfer case was working and the engine was making ALL the horsepowers for a change so I’m guessing the semi slicks were a bad idea in hindsight…

LOL yeah I think so, HUGE amount of force required to do that just through power as there wasn’t a lot of abuse happening!
