Works out if I use all Glass Panels I can save around 100 Kg’s for about $2500… not great bang for the $ as I’m not really racing for Sheep Stations..
Don’t know of anyone doing VR/S Carbon and imagine it’ll be more exe again..

Posts: 5 777I know Carlo Lunetta here in Adelaide who owns/runs CLC Composites, my lad used to race karts against his son. He is an ex Ferrari F1 carbon fiber guy. I reckon he may have molds not sure, might be worth at least a call. The other thing is the windows isn’t it, people swap out the glass to lexan dont they? All depends how far you want to go I guess, and how much $$
July 17, 2017 at 12:05 pm #23643Yep all comes down to the $$$, you come up hard against diminishing returns at this point in a car like mine give at an event I can pick up 40 odd Kg’s of dirt..

Would probably take 40 Kg’s of it to work though
July 18, 2017 at 12:46 pm #23654All wired up, I ran some firesleeve on the Battery cables as the insulation had melted enough to stick them together, should be a non issue now!

Posts: 775will you put your front shafts in now or when it’s in the car
July 18, 2017 at 6:33 pm #23661I’ll put em back in now, they’re just out for a regrease, figured while it’s apart I’d repack all 10 CV joints
Hasn’t done much in the way of KM’s but it’s been in some seriously harsh conditions over the past 18 months.

One thing that justified doing them was the front right had broken the clip that holds the axle in the joint, this could have been bad at some stage so it’s fixed now! </span></span>July 22, 2017 at 6:52 pm #23699

Posts: 5 777Nothing wrong with some preventative maintenance mate. You didn’t know they didn’t need it until you pulled them apart. Few bucks in grease and a little time well spent.
July 23, 2017 at 1:48 pm #23704I agree Gary, now I have a rough idea I’ll hit em again in 4 years or so
Did the CV in the Tailshaft then worked out how to get the old Transfer case CV off the front shaft, once that was done fitted up the axles and that’s me done till parts arrive…
