Credit too you mate.
June 12, 2017 at 10:08 am #23119Thanks Cav, if it wasn’t for the loose valve seat it wouldn’t have come out at all…
Figure while it’s out Rings and Bearings are a good idea but having said that I wouldn’t have a problem putting it back together as is!

You really have to drop in and say g’day next time you are racing over here.
June 13, 2017 at 12:17 pm #23156Will do for sure, last time was a bit of a mess and I bailed to come home early due to tow car issues…
June 27, 2017 at 5:18 pm #23270Found “The” issue with the engine…
Morel Tie Bar lifter was jammed open holding the Intake open at random times..

Posts: 5 777Interesting, I remember a guy on SC back in the day having the exact same issue. is it common with tie bar lifters, seems strange?
June 28, 2017 at 1:29 pm #23276<p style=”text-align: left;”>Lucky u didn’t kiss a valve. Morel are meant to have a good name when it comes to lifters.</p>
June 28, 2017 at 1:44 pm #23277DId a bit of research and asked around a bit and it seems the base model lifters have QC issues and are either rattly or sticky… I have some of each in mine, The one for that Intake had to be hit with a hammer to get it to moved at all then it jammed down and won’t return…
I bought a set of LS7 Lifter and Hardware to replace them so that “should” sort the engine 100%, the Valves were all a bit sad from being hung open and lean a lot of the time due to the fuel supply issues so the Heads needed a touch up anyway!

Posts: 5 777Alls well that ends well, at least its just a freshen up, it hasn’t stuck a leg out of bed or anything.
June 28, 2017 at 3:48 pm #23279I would of thought your engine is out of the ls7 range. I know a lot of people in states change from ls7 to a Johnson 2110 lifter.
June 28, 2017 at 5:34 pm #23288Nah I only run a factory LS9 Cam Cav, it’s a bit of a tiddler!
June 28, 2017 at 5:51 pm #23289Ahh yes I keep forgetting that. Suppose it doesn’t take much to make big power with the blower. 😜
June 28, 2017 at 6:18 pm #23290Some say it’s cheating… I say it’s smart

What you have done isn’t cheating or dumb, its an engine package built with care and thought witha job in mind. Slapping on a blower with no other mods, boosting the bejeezus out of it and making a glory run on a dyno with a power curve as peaky as Mt Everest on the other hand…
