If only it were something that easy Cav, this issue has been kicking my arse since I built this thing…

1st 3>4 Laps it runs perfectly, after that it turns to crap and is basically undrivable (see the vid below)

Only as its front of mind with mine right now, what are your general under bonnet temps like?  Given its a race car is it worth cutting some sort of vents to shed some heat.  No electronics likes heat, and I would imagine even with that shielding it will eventually heat soak?  Btw ignore me if I am on the wrong track.

Don’t really know Gary, back when I ran the Supra I had real time monitoring of all the temps in the car including ecu and under bonnet so I was a bit spoiled, my reasoning is it never did this shit when it was in the Tonner and I’m guessing the under bonnet temps would have been much higher in that…

But and the big but here is that was on the other ECU so I’m thinking maybe this one is faulty as it was a real problem child when I first converted the Tonner to V8…  so fingers crossed it behaves itself this weekend..

If not I’ll look at moving the ECU somewhere cooler as you’re correct it might be some sort of a thermal fault or shutdown, there’s just no easy way to log the ECU temps..

Could you rig up a fan to the pcm to test the theory?

Not really Sands it would just be circulating the already hot air, I’ll hold off and see if the last round of changes fixes it or not, If not I can more the PCM inside the car if needed but I’d prefer to leave it where it is (getting lazy) if it’s just a case of the other PCM being faulty..

Thought about a Vent/scoop just above it but the car get’s used in some really bad conditions so not really keen on channeling water/mud into the engine bay. ditto on running a duct to it..

Yeah I did until the Karcher died and I had to make a trip to Bendigo to get a Gerni!

Took 5 hours to wash it and another 2 to clean the Shed…

Won’t do that again so built this (see pic below)

All loaded ready to go racing tomorrow!

Maybe a man of your talent, ingenuity and skill could make up some sort of spray bar kinda thing that you lay across your ramps in the first pic and as you drive the car off the trailer it gets rid of the worst of it?  Very cool set up though, have fun and good luck!!

LOL the Mud at our track is like Concrete I usually was a week for it to dry then put it up on the hoist and attack it with a plastic hammer…

Since I made the stand I can hit it with the Gerni and get rid of the bulk of it while it’s still damp.

Thanks I’ve been looking forward to this event since I missed the last one there due to a total fire ban..

Was just curious as I’d been using it to fill potholes around here…

We take Tonnes home each event.

Hey atleast something good comes from all that mess, free fill is hard to come by. I like the idea with the stands under the trailer ramps though  it’d save a bit of time cleaning up the shed every time

Thanks, I was going to build a full height washbay outside then priced up the materials and thought yeah nah…

Built the stand from material I had here so pretty much cost me nothing and I can blow off like 95% so all good!

Only got 2 clean laps before the gremlin popped it’s head up again, but I did get a chance to diagnose it properly and am 99% sure I know what’s doing it, new track on new untested tyres the thing so fast out of the box with the Guns being only 3 seconds faster!

That and I was only revving it to 4500 and not the 7000 it’s capable of  ;-)

Sounds promising mate. Few people won’t be happy that a Lexcen is knocking on their door.

I went for a few laps in a couple of RWD cars and couldn’t believe how hard they have to work to get a Lap time… mine is like a drive to the milkbar by comparison!

Be happy to if you want something done, it got a bit mental here last year and I’ve had a couple of months doing pretty much nothing (other than my own stuff) to recover, got back into it today fabbing up a couple of bits for a mate Rally Car.
