I know, I was quiet shocked the first time I saw it too. I think the stop/start stuff is the real killer. When there is airflow through the bay it’s not horrendous but stop and heat soak does it’s thing. It takes a lot of cold air to suck that much heat out of such a large alloy chunk :(

Yeah I see it with the Blower engine, if it’s small throttle openings it’s usually up there…

Heat soak is a good reason as to why the MAT sensor should be placed in the correct position also.

    Today End!

Went down and made a mount for my Phone and Data Logger/Tune tool, all within reach and not blocking anything else, also got a bunch of Monaro parts ready to clean up and paint so they don’t look like arse on the new engine!

Not such a bad idea, we get 2 laps then they change the track layout, came close to going the wrong way a couple of times!

Nice stuff Ian. Where at? What’s the racing calendar like. Obviously plenty of dates given you built a dedicated track car

3rd Sunday of each month Cav, at my local track, I intend to do a few hillclimbs during the year as well and maybe a track day or 2.

    Today End!

Went down and finished off the Engine this morning, figured out what’s left to do then sorted through some of the Trans parts so it’s ready to go.

    Today!

Had a few things to sort this morning, also had a play around with the Tune and dialled some of the TRAC out in case I feel it’s needed as it was slamming the throttle shut before so I’ve been running with it “Off”. Loaded ready for tomorrow, I’ll go down after lunch and do a few things on the Monaro so I can get it back on the Go Jacks.
