hey IJ I see that your cage is bolted I assume this is all good in oz in nz we have to have them welded are there certain regs you have to go though

It’s an Autocross car so the regs are a bit looser as you’re not racing other cars Judge, having said that though it’s CAMS approved for a few different type events so not really sure to be honest.

I bought it mainly to stiffen up the chassis, it along with the internal bracing I built make the car fairly rigid this in turn allows the suspension to do it’s thing as evidenced by my first Tarmac event last month  :XD:

Home, Car unloaded washed and put away, Tonner unloaded, Lexcen ran like a champ all day, me not so much… have a bit of a cold and felt like crap most of the day, by Lap 6 I was ready to call it a day… </span>

Lap times improved each run, other than on one I managed to find an extra tenth out there… Car is much improved but I really need to do something about Tyres as there’s pretty much 0 traction on power and it locks the rears on closed throttle corner entries..
Got Vid of all my runs once I’ve edited them I’ll upload and share!

Cool as, love the minor tyre  moment around 26sec in the second one :)  The later runs you can really see you getting used tot he car.  And also can def see why the steering gearbox is needed.  Awesome stuff :good:

LOL yeah that was a bit sketchy for sure, managed to keep it off the tyres all day, one guy hit one on the back straight and rolled his Escort…

Steering was so much better with the quickener

Yeah it’s pretty plush to drive as well, on one of the parade laps I was behind a WRX, the new layout went across some ruts from an intersecting layout and the WRX jumped around a bit I braced for it and …. nothing…

Just need to get some lateral grip from the tyres and it’ll be good!

Managed to tune out the awful understeer it had last Dirt event as well so pretty successful day.

For a Tarmac rally. Would a tire with less side wall be beneficial?

I love all your builds and the stories that go with them especially how the Monaro LE is going.

But why is that your is the only thread that when I click on the latest post it goes to post #1.

All the other threads on here go straight to the latest post.

Thanks for that glad you’re enjoying what I post up, a lot of times it rambles a bit but I’m old so ya get that..  ;-)

Yeah I don’t know what’s going on there it does that for me too, if I use TapaTalk I can only see page #1….

Something a bit buggy I guess..

Other thing it’s doing is when I make a new post it kicks me back to page #1…

    Today!

Managed to save some $$$ on the High Pressure Hose, was going to use AN fittings and Braided Teflon as I did on the Lexcen, the Astra hose was long enough to reach so I just put the Holden end on it job done!

    Today!

Went out early this morning ready to get stuck back into the Stroker Engine… bzzzz WRONG..

Scat in their wisdom decided that making a stroker to go into a Holden engine it’d be a great idea to use the 2x Chev Woodruff keys instead of the 1x Holden one…

I assumed they’d be in the Crank Box but nope after ringing my supplier they’re not included… seriously guys WTF…

He’s posting me out a pair no charge..

Damn thing is going to fight me every step of the way.
