I’d hate to pre-enter and blow the $ if it’s a pig in February..
The way this car has been thought out and built, its more likely to be a weapon… Be great to sit up on the hill at Collingrove watching this put through its paces.
Thanks Gary. I’ll reserve judgement till it’s proven…

Yep figured it was time :XD:
(now I’ve done the major debugging and managed NOT to embarrass myself too much in the process)
January 6, 2016 at 7:24 pm #13094You will love the go pro. I’ve got some awsome footage skiing and riding. For what they are, they are killer.

Yeah pretty damn impressed with it so far and they have a Win Phone app!
January 8, 2016 at 10:07 am #13126Today End!
And another of my Christmas presents arrived, after almost killing myself and the neighbour that helped me winch the Lexcen onto the Tandem when it broke down last year I decided to invest in an Electric 14000 Lb/ 6350 Kg Winch!

I’ve got a boat winch on my trailer and an electric one. The boat winch has 3 speeds/difficulties and has no problems winching on 2000kg.

Sort of figured overkill is a good thing in this case, If I bend the Lexcen badly enough I might be dragging a dead weight onto the trailer <fingers crossed>
Might also come in useful if I manage to get the Tonner and Trailer stuck :XD:

Thanks, it’s one of those things that’s been on the list for the 6 years I’ve owned the trailer, not something you need all the time but after almost dying using the manual winch the once I decided it’s time..
I’ve upgraded a few things since I’ve owned it, did away with the Fold Up ramps as it got worse fuel economy unloaded than loaded due to the aero drag, that and them being short it made the approach angle too steep, I replaced them with a pair of 3Tonne rated aluminium ramps and cut the floor out so the slide under the car.
Also ditched the Ford Pattern Hubs/Drums and put a set of Commodore pattern ones on and swapped in the larger Ford studs, replaced the Breakaway Box when it died with an upspec one so all in all I’m pretty happy with it.

Posts: 5 777Very nice, the trailer I hired to bring the Kombi home is a hydraulic tilt deal, was bloody good, but i amguessing pretty heavy. As you mentioned above, first time you have a bit of an off track excursion and your trying to winch it up with a couple of corners not quite how they should be I reckon you are going to be pretty thankful you have it
January 12, 2016 at 3:54 pm #13244This one is a Tank, I had it built when I was moving the machines up here and might have gone a bit overboard…
I’d really like a tilt trailer but I have this now…
Yeah I think if and when I actually need the winch I’ll be very happy I went big and as I said it’ll serve double duty if I ever get the whole combo stuck somewhere!

Posts: 5 777Imagine its the kinda thing that apart from cost, it cant be too big can it? I mean if you only ever use half its capacity ts not going to hurt it.

Posts: 82You could always mount the winch to the back of the tonner and run a couple of rollers on the trailer.

Yep that’s what I thought, I like having some overhead left in my equipment!
You could always mount the winch to the back of the tonner and run a couple of rollers on the trailer.
Had considered that at one point Chris but when I built the exhaust I moved the spare to the top of the chassis back there so there’s nowhere for it to go, that and it would mean I was dragging around more dead weight..
I’ll grab another Anderson connector and bolt a battery holder to the Trailer in case anyone else needs to use the trailer and winch..
