Posts: 5 777I am guessing you mean reduce peak power to make it more tractable across the range?

LOL just said I had considered it :XD:

The original build was to maximise the Midrange power and did it nicely, freeing up it’s breathing and the change in header size has made it a lot more peaky but that might just be the DBW issues, I’ll know more when I get my EFI-Live fixed and log what it’s doing..
I think once the wheels are pointing in the right direction it’ll transform it.

Posts: 5 777Thanks so have you had it on thd dyno, what does the torque curve look like, i assume previously you went 2″?

Nope last time when it was in the Tonner it had 1-3/4 on it, never got a chance to get a power figure as Tq Management was limiting it to 300awkw, took a year to sort that out, I logged a few runs and calculating from the MAF flow/AFR it was making 450ishKw, unplugging it with the bigger headers, bigger air cleaner and less restrictive exhaust has turned it into an animal

No probs will do, with any luck I’ll get into it tomorrow, have to nip into town in the morning and collect some steel for the front arms, figure I may as well beef them up a bit, not so much for the power as they only ever see 32% more for the inevitable running out of talent and into the tyre barriers moment!
October 22, 2015 at 9:01 am #10443Is it possible to do some sort of driving course to skill up for this kind of thing?

Dunno, I think it’s one of those things you learn by doing, I have all the theory and some skills, on the weekend I was fighting a losing battle due to the read end geometry changing each Lap I did, my second lap was 4.5 seconds better in a car I’d only driven 20 KM’s and I wasn’t far off the regulars, there’s room for improvement and the car showed great potential.

Posts: 5 777Nice work, that’s a serious upgrade
October 22, 2015 at 3:02 pm #10466Thanks Gary, probably a bit excessive but I don’t want this failure again, would have been much worse at a Tarmac event with sticky tyres ..
October 23, 2015 at 2:53 pm #10488Today End!
Rework on all 4 arms done, I’ve added 2Kg per rear arm and 1 Kg per front not bad in the grand scheme of things, my wheels/tyres are light as so the unsprung weights are still under the Tonner or the Adventra with stock wheels fitted!

October 23, 2015 at 3:03 pm #10490Thanks, I figured I could probably get away with the Fronts as they were due to the Tq Biasing of the Centre Diff but that’s the end that will arrive at an off first if I have one so decided to beef em up a bit!

October 23, 2015 at 4:07 pm #10495LOL it’s the Aeroflow not for road use build it yourself product, just figured for this thing it was easier as there really nothing off the shelf that would work on the rears.
