Posts: 5 777I must say I like the physical protection braided gives you, and 200 is compatible with anything and high pressure. I know its all dearer though…

Yeah at the moment it’s 3K vs $18….
400 is fine for most automotive things, I did the 2 fuel lines into the engine bay in braided and added a 2mm hi tensile aluminium guard over them in the wheel well.
I’ve used pushlock for decades with the only failure caused by incorrect hose way back, as mentioned the 400r is a new product so a learning process..

Went down to the shed to see if my idea was feasible, I knew getting to the 2x fittings on the Trans case was going to be next to impossible without dropping the Drivetrain again…
Thought I might be able to drop the Trans mount and get it but nah not a chance, can’t pull the Header on that side either.. bit of a pickle… another thing that’s been bugging me a bit since I’ve driven this thing is the dead pedal was a bit high and a bit far back making it a touch uncomfortable… Bright Idea #3068, kill 2 birds with one stone and cut an inspection hole then reposition the dead pedal at the same time… got fiddling and one thing led to another and….

Thanks Gary, couldn’t face dropping the Drivetrain again… If did there’s 0 chance of making my first event on Sunday..
Just finished lunch and about to head down and go through my Niggle list :XD:

Posts: 5 777Yep, I think said before, I guess anything that makes it easier to work on when you are potentially sorting an issue in the pits has to be worth it.

LOL yeah, the whole idea of this thing was NOT to have to work on it in the pits though!

Thanks, we have 2x Club photographers so there should be something, not sure how much in the way of “action” there will be, only plan on getting a feel for it as I’ve done a grand total of 10 Km’s in this car so NFI how it’s going to handle, I bumped up the front sway bar today so that should help some!
October 13, 2015 at 11:36 am #10064Today End!
Went down this morning and NutnBolted it, found a few that were a bit loose so have tightened everything and loctited a bunch of the critical ones..
Bled the W2A Intercooler and made a Cabin Filter for it, gone as far as I can until the Trans Oil arrives, I have a Mate coming up Thursday to give me a hand bleeding the Brakes as there’s a few bubbles I can’t get out on my own!

Posts: 5 777So whats the dealio with a car like this. Is it something you can take to your local track when a meetings not on and thrash it around a bit and sort some issues, or can you only drive it at a fully set up event? All my experience is on bitumen with karts etc so I know precious little about rally cross.

As far as I know our track doesn’t have “test days”…
Lucky for me I have 10 acres I don’t use here!

Today p.s
Got the call my Dex6 Trans Oil was in, quick run into town and collected it, while I was in there one of the shops had 1Kg extinguishers on sale, $20, there’s some bizarre rule that you need to have one in the car even if it’s equipped with an on board fire suppression system like mine.. ahhh well Belt and Braces never hurt anyone..
All filled no leaks and the extinguisher is mounted out of the way.

Posts: 5 777Definitely let me know when you go to Collingrove, will be there with bells on! With a bit of luck the Senator will be firing shots in anger by then, so should be able to take you for a spin too
October 14, 2015 at 2:45 pm #10091I seriously think I need this this car in my life ha ha. Although if I owned it I don’t think my skill would match my enthusiasm lol.

Will do for sure Gary, probably be next year though as I still need to get the Road tyres and wheels sorted, I’ve worked out a combination that will work with the AWD system as the size I currently use don’t have an R option available..

I know for a fact I don’t have the skills to do it justice, I’ll be taking it easy this Sunday for it’s first run as there are so many unknowns…
