Today End!
Traced the Wires/Pins I need to make TRAC and the PWR Button work, PWR was already there but the Harness I’m using is a Ute one so no TRAC, wired it all and double checked the Tonner to make sure, ran a couple of wires for my Tach signal back to the Pump Drivers, checked the Hazard Switch and wiring to see if I could fix the no indicators.. I’m starting to suspect it has something to do with none of the Modules being linked yet as everything works/flashes when you press the remote button.
Somehow it now thinks it’s being stolen so has done the immobiliser thing…. anyone have a clue how to clear this?

If you haven’t solved it already I reckon post this up on the fb page, that’s the reason for the forum and page, the fb page is better for reaching people quickly

Just putting it down to none of the modules are linked Gary, sorting that today ..

Made the TCU mount then traced a few more wires, Holden in their infinate wisdom run 2 separate grounds for the Park/Brake lights… threw me a bit till I figured it out.
Off to the Post office to send my bits up to be programmed/linked.

Thanks, figured rubber mounting it was a good idea, did the same with the ECU.

Posts: 5 777If I were being picky (as an electronics tradesman) would be nice to get a p clip or something around the loom screwed to the ally base plate to take the load off the wires just as they exit the connector. But probably wont matter.

Yeah I see your point but I agree probably not needed as there are a lot of wires in that bundle so should easily support their own weight and there’s a good 200mm of cable above the connector so there’s no bending moment where the cable enters it.

Posts: 5 777Yea would be overkill I guess, its not so much the bending more the fatigue though at the vibration. The wire works hardens then snaps. How you have its pretty easy to keep an eye on so carry on

Pretty much how every VZ Auto on the road today is so it “should” be ok, I think if there were to be an issue you’d get a bunch of errors and it wouldn’t shift properly so a bit hard to miss :XD:
Main thing I was concerned about was the actual vibration if I solid mounted it, stock they clip into a plastic carrier that can float around a bit, ditto on the ECU, the rubber isolators should have enough give to prevent an early death..
The list is getting smaller, I’ll whittle it down some more while I wait for the Modules to return then it should be good to go for an engine start!

As in an EPA roadside type test? 75% of maximum rpm and 2m on an angle from the outlet?

Posts: 5 777Yep what I had to pass, so measured 500mm from the tip, same height, and at a 45 degree angle, at 3300 rpm…

Today End!
Well that was longer than expected… WIred the Tail lights and had a bit of a tidy up and was finished around lunchtime… looked at my Coolers and Fans and laid out some of the electronics and the pump drivers to sort out how I’ll mount it all.. one thing led to another and the Fans are now done!
(skipped lunch so very hungry it atm)

Thanks, I had a quick fiddle today just to verify they both work and yeah setup was so easy!!
I’ve mounted them directly to the Fan/Cooler Support so they’re easy to access, I also like the fact they show the current temp, tested it today in ambient temp then held the probe in my hand and watched it raise to my body temp!
Also nice that I can stage the second fan so you don’t get a massive inrush current draw.
Glad you’re enjoying the build, it’s nice to get some feedback :XD:
