That’s it, I could see the chamfer, I thought for a minute you had use a punch and die but couldn’t work out how that would work. Also makes it a little less sharp if you rub against it too. Nice work, looks good

Could have turned the tool around and made a big ass cheesegrater

    Today End!

Well that was “interesting”…. Had a few things I wanted to do today one of them being a power up to see what works and what doesn’t…

Plugged everything in and hit the main power… bzzzz NOTHING, start running checks still can’t find a cause, slid underneath the check the Main power cable to the fuse panel where it bolts to the starter and gets it’s power from the Battery cable!! DOH Terminal is broken off, I straightened it out a bit for clearance but it didn’t enjoy it, better to fail now then on the track..

Stripped it all out and found another terminal to reuse, crimped it on and took the opportunity to replace the Starter Wire with a left over VZ one that has the correct ends and tidied up the entire sub harness, (had a VY one on it as that’s all I could get NLA new from Holden) Ok take 2, hit the mains again, got ALL the expected Dash errors, I have Wipers Headlights found the Tail light wires in the rear loom, don’t have indicators for some reason yet..

While I was doing all that I managed to break the top off my Catch can, back when I made it I put it in the Lathe and machined the Weld down to make it “pretty”… was a bit thin and when I was pulling on the harness it let go.. doh x2, broke out the TIG cleaned it up and welded it back on, also finished off the rear door window switch bypasses and tested that all that still worked!

So how long do you think before the big fire up?  Can’t be long?

i imagine it will take a little sorting to get the best out of it, but once you do, my guess is it will be a weapon.

Yeah I’ve made everything in the Suspension as adjustable as I could, I have 100’s of KM’s of fireroads up here so it’ll get a good shakedown before I compete, it’s probably going to be too loud to play on the property without pissing EVERYONE off for 10 Km’s….

    Today End!

The pile on the right was removed this morning (thanks Justin) all that remains are the Tail lights, Indicators, Wheelspeed sensors and Fuel pump and Sender wires, don’t actually know what 3/4 of that was… Laid out the Dash and will make the mounts for it tomorrow.

Need to sort out the VZ Cluster into the VR Dash then mount up all the modules and run all the Looms, graft the rear looms then wire up the boot and controllers..

Yeah very much so, just need to take my time and make sure all systems function as I go so I don’t have to pull it apart again to correct issues..

Well I said it would fit but it wouldn’t be “pretty” and I was right…

With the E38 Cars a bunch of the “Smarts” is in the dash, normally you’d leave the existing dash and make it work but that’s not an option..
