That’s still rather impressive. There’s not that much fat in the old base models to remove, even the V6 itself isn’t that heavy.
Had fully expected it to come in around 1400 Chris…
Ahh well it’s not like it’s lacking in Power :XD:

Posts: 82haha, yeah more power’s normally easy. :p
Put a TKO manual trans in and you’ll probably get 40kg back.
The 4L60 isn’t a light trans, I don’t want to think what the 4L80 weighs. :p

Ran a TKO in my old Supra, I know the new ones have improved Syncros but my 500 was a total piece of Garbage, one missed shift at 8000 wave bye bye to the syncro… happened a couple of times even with a perfectly adjusted shifter and was a brand new Box.
Also for Autocross I think the 60 will be “easier” I have a ratchet shifter and will program the Pwr Setting to be full manual, 40 Kg’s at this point isn’t going to save things.
It makes 400+ AWKW so should be fine, only place it will hurt is Hill Climbs on sticky rubber, but those events will be few and far between, Autocross is my local track and it’s once a month so I’m leaning more towards setting the car up for that.
July 18, 2015 at 2:07 pm #8009Today End!
Got a bit enthused this morning and decided to finish off the Fire Suppression System Install, Plumbed the Boot Drivers foot well and 2 points in the Engine bay, I like to think of the drivers one as the “I know my arse is on fire this should put it out” nozzle!
July 20, 2015 at 1:00 pm #8022Today End!
Brrr still in the single digits here..
Went down and wiped a couple of small jobs off the whiteboard, fitted the Fuel Cell Foam and that’s enough for the day! (replaced the stock foam with E-85 compatible foam)
July 21, 2015 at 12:25 pm #8037Today End!
DBW Accelerator pedal done, wiped off a couple more from the Whiteboard, need to go get some Satin Black paint..
Put the Lexcen back on the Hoist so I can get easier access for the next couple of jobs.

Posts: 208What’s the foam good for? I run E85 in a standard fuel tank.

Just stops Slosh Michael, the Black foam breaks down with 85 and clogs the pickup screens…
July 22, 2015 at 12:40 pm #8048Today End!
After my trip to the ER to have the Metal removed from my eye last night I figured I’d take the day off… bzzz got bored so wiped a couple more things off the Whiteboard, mounted my remote filter and accumulator also found a nicer pedal pad so swapped it in and assembled the spring correctly (DBW Pedal was a factory 2nd for this reason)
July 23, 2015 at 1:53 pm #8052Today End!
Quick trip down to Melbourne today to collect a few fittings I was short for the Oil system, could have done it with what I had here but it wouldn’t have been as nice…
July 24, 2015 at 12:30 pm #8058Today End!
Reassembled the Coolers after painting the mount and popped them back in out of the way, also made a Rock Guard for the Fuel lines out of 2.5mm Aluminium, that’s enough for the day!
July 25, 2015 at 2:10 pm #8073Today End!
Engine Oil Cooler, 3 Litre Accumulator, Thermostat and Remote Filter all plumbed up!
July 26, 2015 at 1:19 pm #8077Looks pretty full on under there. Is the accumulator safe from debris?
what oil cooler is that?

There will be a Sump guard that extends forward to the Radiator support so it covers the accumulator, the Coolers are Aeroflow AF72-4040 , 330mm L x 312mm H x 51mm they’re massive, small one is for the Power Steering.

Today End!
Power Steer day, all the lines and the cooler are plumbed up, reservoir is mounted!
July 26, 2015 at 7:05 pm #8086Nice work.
Do u have a link to the one ur using. What’s the quality like? Never been a fan of Aeroflow.
July 26, 2015 at 7:17 pm #8087Thanks, here ya go, quality seems not bad, no where near a Seatrab but it’s 1/4 the price so all good, once they’re this huge they can’t help but work, check ebay you’ll find them cheaper. <edit> but not by a lot there appears to have been a price rise since I bought mine….

July 26, 2015 at 10:18 pm #8095Cheers mate. Yeah setrad are good. Buy you pay for it.
I was looking at the PWR.
How do they compare price and size wise? I wanted the biggest possible for the Engine and Trans oil.
July 27, 2015 at 7:35 am #8097http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=251990096987&globalID=EBAY-AU Was looking at this. But want the -6 ends not the straight barbs.
Its a lot bigger then my current cooler which seem to handle the heat from my 5200 stall.
Mate of mine has both a PWR and DAVIES CRAIG. They are identical. Must come from same supplier.
July 27, 2015 at 7:55 am #809819mm thick is the huge difference, but having said that it’s going to be so much easier to install into a road car with AC!
Maybe look for an alternative that uses screw in fittings so you can have an adaptors?
2 of mine have -6 and the other is -10.
But if you’re using it for the Trans only the cooler circuit is a low pressure Bypass so Barb ends are fine.
