I don’t think most ‘retirements’ these days are happy, at least you haven’t retired from life as well. The number of idea’s i have floating around in my head I’d need to win a lotto megadraw before I could start any of them.
LOL you and I both Chris!
(thanks for the reply, I was starting to wonder if anyone was following all this)
I reckon there are plenty of us that check in on this thread almost every day! Keep up the good work and please keep posting your progress…
Will do FB, elbow deep in a Trans build atm while I’m waiting on the machine shop, once that’s all done I’ll get stuck back into the Lex and try and finish it before August… (12 month mark)
June 22, 2015 at 7:19 pm #7740Today!
While I was in Melbourne today I collected some -6AN fittings and some Braided Teflon lined hose to make up my Power Steering High pressure hose, also grabbed some -6 400R for the return line.
July 2, 2015 at 3:11 pm #7877Today!
Got all the parts to build the Blower engine for the SS, once done I can get back to the Lexcen and see if I can finish it off!
July 4, 2015 at 7:34 pm #7896Almost done!

Thanks Manta, nothing super special just a good solid build, due to a last minute change to Tie Bar Lifters I now need to measure up and order the correct length pushrods so it’s in a holding pattern at the moment..
July 5, 2015 at 12:48 pm #7901All dressed up with no place to go… ;)

This is one I’m building for a mate, it’s an LS1 forged internals, it made 350 rwkw at 12 psi when it was stock, I also built a decent trans for it, it’s in a mint VY SS Wagon.

Not a whole lot happening at the moment Gary, once I knock the wagon over it should come together fairly quickly as there’s only small stuff left to sort!
July 11, 2015 at 9:18 pm #7950SS is finished and back to it’s home, back into the Lexcen this week!
July 13, 2015 at 10:08 am #7955Today!
First day back on the Lexcen…. CBF’d..
Played around with the stock HVAC Box to see if there was an easy way to reuse it’s ducting.. BZZZ there isn’t as I now have a few things in the way, so “weight reduction” in the bin..
I did a list of things to do on the whiteboard so when I do get enthused enough I have a plan.
Just off to drop the non operational scales back to my mate in town then vegg the rest of the day!
July 14, 2015 at 11:45 am #7981Today End!
Ok got a few things wiped off the whiteboard, then added 5>6 more… DOH
Started laying out the Fire suppression bits and pieces, found a nice spot for the Pull Handle then had a thought… I wonder if I’ll be able to reach it with the Harness on.. Bolted a seat in and yep not a chance in hell..
Picked a new spot and will make the bracket tomorrow then plumb in all the hard lines and nozzles.

Today!
SS Owner is very happy and is driving it to/from work to get some KM’s on it before heading to APS for a Tune, My 500 Kg load bar scales arrived and work perfectly, too damn cold to go out to the shed today, it’s 4c :)
July 15, 2015 at 11:56 am #7991Just help others where you can like it try to myself, not all that common these days .
July 15, 2015 at 12:12 pm #7992It’s a Karma thing, I always treat people how I like to be treated, sometimes it comes back sometimes it doesn’t..
July 16, 2015 at 4:11 pm #7996Today End!
Spent the afternoon building the Braces for the Load Beams then did a test run, think I’m going to have to revise my projected weight a bit as I’m getting 1366Kg’s now and there’s still at least 250 Kg’s to go back into it.. DOH but I guess reality is it’s an AWD Blown 6.6L V8 in a full size car so I’ll be happy with anything under 1800 Kg’s (what the Tonner weighs).

Posts: 82That’s still rather impressive. There’s not that much fat in the old base models to remove, even the V6 itself isn’t that heavy.
