Will that be able to get pinched by the spring?
nah that’s not why I moved it, I was worried that the tyre would catch it, plus the springs will have covers.
Ohh ok, well then it won’t be a problem

Yeah the way I’d ran them they looked in range of the tyres so I moved them down quite a bit, it was a compromise as you need to allow for the full suspension travel and running them behind the shocks wouldn’t work due to the chassis rail..
As I’m using small diameter Springs there’s no room to run boots over the shock shafts, I bought a set of neoprene covers that go over the spring instead, bonus in this case is the brake likes can’t get pinched, they’re braided Teflon hoses so pretty tough.
Thanks for the question though it’s nice to know someone is keeping an eye on the details, always helps as I do miss things now and again! :XD:
June 1, 2015 at 12:38 pm #7393Today End!
Reinstalled the front A Arms and checked the Steering stops, I then did a rough alignment using my set up bar so the front end is set to 0/0 until I can get it on a machine, reunited the Trans and Engine then blew a coat of paint over the Mounting brackets, that’s about all I be bothered doing today..

Ok it’s just about ready to bolt back in, spent the day crossing T’s and dotting I’s, turned into a long day…

Thanks Gary, there will be a break in proceedings soon for a couple of weeks as I have a few mini builds to sort for friends, plan is to get it back down on it’s wheels so I can roll it off the hoist and out of the way.

Today!
And it’s in, I’ll connect up a few things then drop it on the ground so I can move it out of the way then I’ll clear up the Shed.

And that’s me done for awhile!
June 4, 2015 at 9:17 am #7468Is that the height you will be running it at in the end?
Thanks for the link too

LOL nah it’ll drop quite a bit once there’s weight in it, pretty much an empty shell at the moment, the aim is to get it down another 60>70mm so it has a bit of droop travel, the springs that are in there now were just a guess based on projected weight, if needs be I’ll swap em out to something lighter.
No probs on the link, very welcome!
Good people to deal with I think they were here within 10 days.
June 10, 2015 at 4:04 pm #7563Today End!
Back from Melbourne after dropping the 5.7L bits at the machine shop, on the way in this morning in traffic the Tonner did something very weird..
The Climate Control found the “FaF” setting while on Auto (Foggy as F*c*) only other time I’ve seen this in the past is when you pop a heater core, monitored it closely and after I unloaded checked the carpets are both dry and it didn’t have the coolant smell it normally does, ran it in demist for awhile then put it back to Auto and it’s fine..
Stopped in at VPW and picked up the remainder of my Hose and Fittings so I’m pretty sure I have everything needed now (what’s the bet I don’t now I’ve said it)
Also in a Nod to “Safety” I picked up a 5Kg Fire Suppression System!
June 15, 2015 at 5:58 pm #7641Today End!
Started plumbing the boot and as predicted I was short a couple of fittings… Quick trip to Melbourne fixed that!
June 16, 2015 at 12:24 pm #7657Today End!
Plumbed the rest of the fuel system after mounting the Pressure Reg in the only place it can possibly fit, got that done and plumbed up the IC hoses, MUCH neater this time thanks to the -12/-10 Y pipes I got from Harrop!
June 16, 2015 at 2:05 pm #7658Do u have a job? LOL

I’d love to have the time and cash to build something like this.

Wasn’t a “happy” retirement… :bored:
If I were a young guy starting again this would be what I’d work towards!

Today End!
Best laid plans and all that, was going to build the Trans for the Wagon today, missing Gearset sunk that idea so I “fiddled with the Lexcen, Installed my Fire Suppression Bottle then did the IC Hose Clamps, measured up all the others I need and will get them on my next trip to Melbourne!

Posts: 82I don’t think most ‘retirements’ these days are happy, at least you haven’t retired from life as well.
The number of idea’s i have floating around in my head I’d need to win a lotto megadraw before I could start any of them.
