Main reason why I want hardline. So I don’t have to straighten it. What stainless did you use? What sort of gizmo could you make?

Tbh I cant remember the grade stainless, pretty sure it was just regular Aeroflow or similar.  I would make a straightener like this, but tbh for $105 just buy one.

All good Gary, not a lot happening here for another month anyway, the Aeroflow one is adjustable, I used it on my -8 fuel line and my 3/16th brakeline and everything in between.

Looks nice, we used to call that sort of set up a Turks Head.  When I was thinking of copying that design I posted IJ, I was thinking it wouldn’t be hard to have spacers to take it out to another size?  It would be pretty easy to make on the printer too, as its just 4 parts repeated.  But as I sadi for $105, you wouldnt bother unless you had your own printer and it was for a bit of fun

nah I’ll buy that 3/16 one. I’m using hardrawn 1/2 so won’t need to straighten it.

Really looking forward to the new season!

Ordered some new Side Mirrors on Wednesday afternoon from Adelaide (got sick of 5 second penalties from Big Ears clipping Bollards) , they arrived today… WTF I can’t get parcels from Melbourne in 2 days…

Glad that’s done, have to wonder at times just how smart I’m not… 40c fabricating and welding in a tin shed…

I had 3 ways to mount the mirrors in mind, easy hard and harder… Mocked up the easy way and it looked like arse, benefit would have been I’d be finished before it got hot..

Harder way… Nah because racecar, so the hard way it was, 3/4 of a day skipping lunch but it’s done!

They look bloody neat mate!!  I actually have a smallish split air con, its only a cheapie, but its right over the main workbench.  Doesn’t go anywhere near cooling the whole shed but on those hot days working at the bench it’s enough to make it bearable…

Yep the whole cost factor is prohibitive, and you can’t have a breeze while using the Tig, it’s actually not too bad in there with the doors open it gets a good flow through but again you have to close one door while welding..

a couple of those whirly bird things on the roof might help draw some of the hot air out
