Posts: 5 777Mate nice steering, but has that guy standing off to the side at 1:23 got a death wish?
October 15, 2018 at 3:57 pm #27366Thanks, one of my mates made him almost shit his pants and jump for cover… NOT where I’d be standing.
NO ONE was silly enough to get out on the straight and film..

Posts: 5 777Yea looked like any kind of excusrison could end up pretty ugly…
October 17, 2018 at 6:19 pm #27378If you had an off it was just going to be a matter of severity, sliding scale of wrecking the car to outright death..
I’m running again at Swan Hill this weekend so didn’t want to risk damaging the car so was very conservative all day.

October 24, 2018 at 7:17 pm #27413October 26, 2018 at 4:20 pm #27419Following on from a conversation with mate Craig at the Bendigo long course event a couple of weeks ago and after seeing the difference end plates made to the front Canards I decided to do something about the tiny group A end plates..
My old Tarmac sump guard was repurposed, epoxied and bolted on then a coat of paint and it’s good to go once I clean the dust off and service the air filter, roll on next weekend
October 26, 2018 at 5:04 pm #27420What BF in the car name.?

October 27, 2018 at 12:32 pm #27422And we’re good to go for next weekend!
There were a couple of interconnected failure modes last event, 1 was I hadn’t serviced the air filter for quite a few dusty events so it was running pig rich!
2 due to the above on the last lap I ran the first hard brake application all the remaining fuel sloshed forward away from the pickups so it hesitated mid corner, no drive it ran wide into the bulldust on the outside of the corner..
3 the dust blocked the filter solid collapsing it in on itself… DOH.

Posts: 5 777I go away for two weeks and miss all the fun, congrats mate, top result!!
November 6, 2018 at 12:18 pm #27459Thanks Gary!
This weekend was back to Swan Hill for a 2 day event!
2nd in class and 4th overall both days, not bad for being on road tyres!
November 10, 2018 at 4:49 pm #27471Now I’m able to drive it a bit harder I found if the tank was under half it was getting fuel surge, I was running a pair of 044 knockoffs each plumbed to the rear corner of the tank.
Decided to reinstall my 8L surge tank with the pair of 460L Walbros and use the 044’s as lift pumps, found I had to dial the pressure reg down a touch as the 460’s were +8psi, should be good to go for the Hill Climb at Ararat next weekend.

November 14, 2018 at 2:30 pm #27485Thanks Gary, it’s slowly evolving into something useful on both surfaces!
Middle of the day had a Roo bounce out from behind a Tree…
