Ah I see, so its to show where it’s mounted, makes sense I suppose as I guess people mount them a few different spots, so in case of an accident, they know where to it is.  Thanks for that.

People can get pretty inventive with the Battery location, this helps the safety crew!

    Race wrap up!

Nice relaxing trip up with minimal traffic, stopped at Mc Chuck’s Officer for lunch then caught up with the Franzo Clan at the Cabins, many laughs were had then off to the restaurant for dinner!

Limped home as my back and knees had decided it was a good time to punish me for my misspent youth, LOTS of painkillers got me through the night and into the car the following day..

Parade laps with Kathleen and her first time in the Fat Bitch on tarmac was a lot of fun then into Lap1, weather looked threatening so I went a bit harder than I’d have liked to in case it was my only dry lap (remembering the 2016 event)

Good time but a serious handful skating all over the place, got better each lap as the track warmed with only a few rain drops on the screen, did my best to learn the new set-up and gained confidence each lap.

Thought my day was over when I took the hill for a run and it died, rolled backwards down the hill eventually getting it refired and limped back to the pits, worked the fault back to the signal wire that allows it to shut the pumps off if the engine dies.

Bypassed the new isolator switch with a borrowed fuse and made the grid in time to get that run done, bit scrappy but done, found my bypass wire in the Tonner I used in case of dead relays and did another run, as I came to a stop in the pits the engine stopped..

The cable for the isolator wasn’t letting it travel to its full on position so I adjusted that and the world was good, will fix it properly this week, I’d been chasing Scott Newman all day and on lap 7 which didn’t feel fast I managed to beat him at last, short lived as Matt got me by 2/100’ths so an awesome battle all day!

Hard to make a Direct comparison to last years times as we reversed the running order this year doing the Figure 8 course in the Morning but last year my winning time was an 66.03 this year I did a 65.02, on the Clockwise layout last year was an 59.85 this year I did it in 58.32 so a great improvement!

Thanks Gary, yeah was really happy, still needs MUCH bigger tyres but they act as a fusible link for the drivetrain, really need more seat time and suspension setup to fully sort it, hard to do during competition hence the slow lap at the end..

Didn’t break so over the Moon about that!

Not intentionally… honest.. it’s Function over Form and the Fat Bitch was never going to win any Beauty contests.  ;-)

Well, I am not sure Enzo Ferrari agreed 100% with you!!  My dad taught me it has to look right to be right, but I freely admit that sentiment has caused me way more trouble than its worth at times!!  I am only taking the piss, it’s your car and its awesome btw!  See to me the pic of her coming down the hill there looks awesome.  Reminds me of MG at the island, that would be a fun place to punt her around?

LOL took it that way, Not sure it has the Brakes for the Island nor the gears to do it justice..

    ————————————-

My Cunning plan to reduce the understeer when it’s in Tarmac mode, when I first built it the concept was to keep it under stock guards so I went with 245 fronts as they match the rolling diameter of the 275 rears and would act as a fuse for the front drivetrain.

That turned out to be a non issue and I pumped the guards anyway, I mounted a rear on the front.. Bzzzz Nuh the spokes hit the callipers, next idea was putting a 275 on the front rims, they’re only 1/2″ under ideal for that size tyre so…

All good clears everything and should help somewhat, got a killer deal on a pair of tyres so shot down to Melbourne today and collected them.

Easiest way to make the car look good is to put me in the drivers seat.  B-)

That looked pretty killer. She gets crossed up pretty easily, suppose it’s ones of the perks of 600hp lol.

Is that all 2nd or top gear?

Because it’s a BIG car it needs to be setup a bit looser than I’d normally like so it can change direction quicker, that was all 2nd gear I didn’t have enough brave to use 3rd!
