September 7, 2018 at 1:03 pm #27058September 10, 2018 at 5:08 pm #27075RACEDAY Wrap Up!
Victory is mine 😉
Engine can stay in didn’t break anything and only minor panel damage from a lack of talent..
Got 14 laps in with only the smallest of Nuffy moments, 1 was the dook dook dook dookdook dook noise from the front wheels on the parade lap, turns out the wheel balance weights were a bit close to the steering arms.. 2 was after the parade lap idling in the staging lane the temp rose quite a bit..
Some Tard hadn’t plugged the fans back in.. doh, other than that it ran faultlessly all day, did many back to back laps and all the suspension and steering mods were so worth it, the track favoured the rally tyres today hence my 3rd overall behind 2 well driven fast WRX’s.
All in all though I’m stoked at how good the Fat Bitch behaves, heading home in the morning very content 😊

What you going to do with all your free time when your not breaking shit
September 11, 2018 at 4:21 pm #27082Thanks Cav!
This>> Some cleaning and prep work for the Saturday day/night at KCC, fixed the dook dook that scraped off all the balance weights and fitted up my Rod End Condoms for safer steering!
Also sorted a bug with my light bar so it’s good to go once I aim it.
Another pile of dirt after the KCC wet event, the gift that keeps on giving …

Posts: 5 777Careful mate, you might have to ban yourself if you get any cruder
September 12, 2018 at 5:21 pm #27099Well it’s taken quite a bit longer than usual but here we are at one of my threads going into WrongTown and totally OT
—————————
Interesting Afternoon, since I built the Fat Bitch I’ve had a bit of an issue with the ABS, it’s NOT great on DIrt and is easily confused putting you in the situation where it totally locks out the Brake Pedal, this has lead to a few almost Code Browns in the Past..
It’s simple enough to disable by pulling the Fuse but I was never quite sure if it had any other effects, apart from the amazingly distracting warning Chime and Dash lights going off every KM..
Seeing as the Tonner runs the same Electronics I decided to give it a try today on the way home from Town, got the alarms and Lights as expected scanned it when I got home and NO Codes so good to go..
That left the Alarms and Lights, this is the last car you need any distractions in as it can get a bit busy at times so I did a bunch of research asked a friend that knows these things and there’s no “easy” way to shut it all off in Software..
This left me with a Hardware hack as my only option and as the SRS warning has been on since day 1 I figured it’s Hack time ;)
Pulled the Dash apart tore into the Cluster found the Buzzer and Desoldered it from the Board, Lights were easier just a piece of tape over them between them and the Facia, quick test, Sorted so screwed it all back together and moved it outside so I can Aim the lights tonight in the dark!

Posts: 5 777Years and years ago when I sold my first car, an Austin 1800. It was so shagged every time you went around a corner or braked the oil pressure would drop so low the warning light would come on. Let’s just say sometimes “hardware” fixes to stop warning lights “distracting” you are sometimes the simplest, especially when you are trying to sell something…
Lights/visibility looks awesome btw!!
September 14, 2018 at 11:48 am #27113Thanks Gary, as I said purely functional!

90% chance of rain tomorrow so CBF’d going to the Night event for 8 minutes of “fun” and 3 hours of cleanup the day after…
Almost Tarmac time again so will concentrate on getting ready for that!

Getting to the stage now it’s mostly setup changes, bit of a relief after all the failures!
