With all this weight reduction, soon your going to have to look into diet for your self.

March 26, 2018 at 4:32 pm #26203I usually drop a bit during race season
Found another 2Kgs ..
1346kg Wet now, I think that’s it though…
March 26, 2018 at 7:00 pm #26204Do you need tail lights?
What about cardboard Windows?
March 26, 2018 at 7:27 pm #26205They don’t weigh a lot and I’m hesitant to remove weight at the back of the car as the bias isn’t great as is…
The Poly windows weigh nothing and the front glass being a VR isn’t heavy at all..
I could dump the stock dash but that means remounting everything and I CBF’d it’s lighter than I expected it to ever be so it’s good!

Posts: 5 777Would be interesting to do a “weight audit”. Be nice to see what all the mechanicals weigh, I mean I guess you get to a point (maybe you are now) where theres not really anything much else to gain?
March 27, 2018 at 11:08 am #26207It’s been an interesting exercise, guess I could remake the seat brackets from Aluminium and that might save 4>5 Kg’s but it’s already way overpowered for what I use the car for so maybe not…
I was giving away 100+ Kg’s to most of the other fast guys and that bugged me a bit, sorted now so I’ll see how it performs next event and go from there, pretty sure it’ll be much improved after the shakedown drive I did after repairing the Trans.
If I have to pull it down again I’ll weigh components, I’d like more weight to the rear but there’s not really anything that can be moved easily without a total redesign..
March 27, 2018 at 12:06 pm #26208Base coat done “because race car” makes paining a lot easier

April 2, 2018 at 6:57 pm #26228nice work. Time to send it hopefully.

April 3, 2018 at 6:19 pm #26232Built a Blown LS1 and Trans for a mate a couple of years back, recently it came back as he bought my old Circle D Multiplate converter from the race car, installed that and a new 3/4 clutch pack and off it went, got a call a couple of weeks later just before it was to go back on the Dyno it had lost reverse…
I’ve seen that before and thought it was going to be an easy fix, of course it wasn’t when I went to pull the filter I got a hand full of case splines…
Rebuilt it with one of my spare race cases addressing the failure point and today it went back to the Dyno, 361rwkw/ 484rwhp, Picked up 50rwhp with just the converter change!! Owner is wrapped and so am I!
Not bad for a daily that he commutes to the City and back in..
April 4, 2018 at 12:00 pm #262331 more Mod before Race Day,
back when I first started this project it was going in a different direction the “Plan” was to use as many Holden parts as possible but the plan changed..
The front end ended up about 70mm wider track than stock so that ruled out linking the front sway bar to the Struts like Holden do, no biggie I just linked them to the A arm as I’d already bought a 30mm Blade adjustable sway bar…
Problem here is even on it’s softest setting it’s way too stiff for the car, I hunted up a stiffer rear bar it helped but still not ideal..
Whiteline “used” to do a 27mm bar but it’s NLA so that screwed the easy approach, Stock bar is 26mm but I’d lose the adjustability, thought about it last night and came up with the idea of extending the 30mm bar.
Couple of hours this morning with some thick plate and it’s done I now have 3x Softer settings to choose from :D
