Mine will be around 1400 with the Autocross wheels and tyres…
I’m guessing there’s easily +100 in the Exo and Cage…
January 31, 2018 at 1:31 pm #25824Tidied up the Shed this morning it was a bit of a shambles after the last month or so of work on the Fat Bitch!
Finished up another couple of small jobs I had here then took FB for a shakedown run on the private closed road
Feels good all the gears are in there and working as expected, chassis feels tight and you can notice the weight reduction, 100 Kmh is 3000 rpm with the short Semi Slicks and the Trans Temp never went over 60c!
Quick trip into town to collect a couple of bits required to rebuild my old race Trans and collected some new Shed Toys that arrived!

Sounds like good progress, less weight is always better than more HP when it comes to handling.
Did that other trans dipstick ever arrive?
January 31, 2018 at 3:52 pm #25826Power has never been a problem in this car so agree 100%, adding lightness is a great thing.
Yeah it did the other day, I think it’s going to cost more to post it over than the part is worth…
January 31, 2018 at 6:01 pm #25827Ready to go!
New Toy, I don’t know how the Chinese can do these at this price but I’m not going to miss out
January 31, 2018 at 6:10 pm #25828Ok. What is it.

Has many other uses!

Always wanted one as pushing things is far better than hammering them out of the way but has always been low on the list due to pricing, now they’re so cheap I couldn’t not buy one!
Bought it to pump out the Rear air intakes as I feel they’re in the laminar flow of the sides of the car and not as effective as they could be, used the spreader but it’s only rated at a ton so don’t want to risk destroying it, just bought a stumpy 10 Ton ram that should do the trick!

Posts: 5 777Yea agree, I used it doing some work on the Kombi, gives you the ability to bend and shape with some feel rather than just bashing the hell out of it
February 1, 2018 at 12:57 pm #25844Handy bit of gear to have for sure!
Would be nice having a Pull kit as well but I just don’t have a need for it..
February 2, 2018 at 12:05 pm #25852Just been down the shed “fiddling”
Fluids are all checked and while I was down resetting the rear Wing for “transport” I had a bit of a play with it, there’s a series of holes to adjust the Angle of Attack and the wing comes undrilled, the last hole for maximum angle isn’t able to be drilled as it’s too close to the underside of the wing..
There is also a second run of holes (marked by dimples in the glass) for Half adjustments, I never bothered drilling those as it’s just not needed, removed the bolts set it to maximum and drilled one pair in the second row so all good! (the other “plan” was to buy a flexible drill extension with a small chuck that would let me drill the last pair)
This way means 0 cost and I’m not waiting for another delivery!
February 14, 2018 at 5:13 pm #25949The Old Race 60 rebuilt as a “Spare” for the Tonner, idea here being if I have a spare on the shelf it’ll never shit another trans as long as I own it…
February 14, 2018 at 9:04 pm #25953Always the case.
February 16, 2018 at 12:00 pm #25960Pulled another 5Kg’s out of the Fat Bitch this morning, while it doesn’t sound like much it was at the pointy end forward of the axle so will have a much bigger effect than thought!
Grand total Wet now is 1365Kg’s I’m happy with that!
