Very nicely done.  I bet there were a few hours work in that.

What are you doing to adapt the 350 output shaft to transfer case input shaft?

Thanks, yep I started with a much bigger blank than I’d usually use as I did this all freehand, only doing one so no use setting up the CNC…

Shaft is really easy just need to cut 15mm off the stock 350 output and it’s done  B-)

Didn’t even have a cordless in the old days  ;-)

I’m a bit of a Tool Junkie, often buy things I think I’ll only need once then put em away till the next time then have to remember where I put them..

The 350 Core I bought turned out to be shagged, no big deal on the internals as I’m replacing just about everything but the case had a LOT of wear on the Low/Reverse splines, this is what I killed in the 60 a few months back so didn’t want to chance it.

My Supplier replaced the case no probs but said we may need to strip 3 of them to find a good one, lucked out this one is Mint so a perfect base to build on.

Can never have too many tools.

Suppose it’s one of the downsides to using an old core. There is always hit and miss chances.

Im toying with the idea of going back to a 4L80e. FML

That would have been my first choice, too long, heavy and they have their own issues, I like the simplistic 350 less shit to go wrong as most of the places I run I only use second anyway…

The only thing that had put me off using one in the past was the tall first gear as I’m stuck with 3.46:1 Diffs as that’s all there is for the front diff.

Very nice work mate. That lathe would’ve paid for itself years ago by the looks of it.

I reckon a lathe is the single best machine you can have if you step up from regular garage tools.  Mine is a little baby compared to IJ’s but they are just so useful.  They do jobs that you can’t do any other way.
