Thanks mate. You live and learn. Should have asked to see it run on a dyno before going ahead but that’s the beauty of hindsight. It’s still a nice car and with a genuine 400rwhp+ it will be much much nicer
May 2, 2015 at 1:46 pm #6133This car is sooo nice!
June 10, 2015 at 12:36 pm #7557June 10, 2015 at 12:37 pm #7558Painting the centres of the wheels in a few weeks for a different look considering there are three SV5000’s running around Sydney with gold simmons at the moment.
June 10, 2015 at 6:18 pm #7564Who had them first? hahaha
June 17, 2015 at 6:30 pm #7671Looks damn good mate, what size tyres are you running? Interested to see how they go painting around the bolts with them being one piece rims.
June 18, 2015 at 2:47 pm #7679235/30/20 tyres front and rear. The bolts come out, just need the right tool

Oh OK cool, that’s handy and good to know.
Actually i should have known that, mate had one missing from his and they sent some out.
June 18, 2015 at 7:31 pm #7683The bolts come out, just need the right tool
What does this proper tool look like?
June 19, 2015 at 7:53 am #7684it looks like a 10pt socket, but is seemingly made of gold plates rocking horse shit considering the prices simmons want for the tool. Google to the rescue.
June 19, 2015 at 6:04 pm #7689I need to buy this tool also. If u find a replacement please let me know.
Considering its a $2 bit in a tool shop, yet these pricks want top dollar.
June 20, 2015 at 9:13 am #7692Some of sidchrome’s older socket sets used to come in the ten point star. I used them when I stripped some fr17s to restore, I’m not to sure if simmons still use the same bolts on the new one piece Simmons but is worth a try.
June 22, 2015 at 9:42 am #7732I bought an 8mm 10point socket as that was what I was told it is. An 8mm 12point will grab them enough to remove (the very edge). As such I reckon its a 9mm 10pt socket.
June 23, 2015 at 5:56 pm #7752Got them painted yet?
June 24, 2015 at 9:15 am #7759Nah. Having second thoughts to be honest as I was going to paint them body colour.
I really want billets and if I paint them green they’ll be hard to sell.
June 24, 2015 at 8:21 pm #7766DO NOT PAINT GREEN
June 25, 2015 at 7:13 pm #7802DO NOT PAINT GREEN
Agree with Cav here
July 3, 2015 at 3:05 pm #7887Will just buy billets and be done with it.
July 26, 2015 at 2:22 pm #8083Bit of work been happening. Rear seat and door trims off at the trimmers being done. Replaced all the ageing bits of interior for new stuff. Dynamat installed whilst trim out.
Plenum spacer installed.
Front bar off being resprayed so that the paintwork is literally perfect. New pin stripes going on too.
Lastly what are people’s thoughts on the re-pro 20″ HDT Momo stars?
I reckon they could look awesome and a lot less common than the Simmons. Is it strange though putting “HDT” wheels on an HSV?
Also whacked a new headunit in it and Kal will built me a new boot install with some cool stuff in between now and Xmas hopefully.
July 26, 2015 at 3:44 pm #8084Sounds like some good things are happening, add some photos! It would be interesting to see the momos on a vn, I did think about putting some on my VN SS but I brought some fr’s instead. Just another thought why not some of those 20″ walkinshaws.
