Yeah man Spring is not tight enough
say if what ever your clipping it onto is distance of 150mm your spring would want to be about 75mm
needs some tension on it
remember your pushing it with your foot so it’s not goin to feel tight at all
I need to put myn on with plyers and throttle feels normal as under foot
May 1, 2016 at 4:03 pm #16494Hey guys well lil update made a bracket out of some L angle alli sitting about and managed to find 2 springs around in the shed and strapped them on and wow idling a bit below 1000 so took it for a drive and maybe 2 blocks down the road idle sitting around 1500. Once i got back home the springs seemed to have lost tension so il go find some this week at work.
While i was at it i gave the old girl a whipe over and a wash also thinking about taking the intercooler out for something a bit more low profile. Looks a lil obvious i think.??
May 1, 2016 at 4:18 pm #16495By low profile i mean a coat of black???
May 1, 2016 at 5:06 pm #16498Black/stealth is good. Maybe some black mesh in front as well like the Clubby’s had as well?
May 1, 2016 at 8:13 pm #16515Those springs look a little under done lol.Need some tighter wound ones with more return strength….but i know you just had them lying around. On the right track.
Custom air box like the one i had for the Grp A manifold would work great on the Whipple.IAT’s where at ambient until stuck in traffic.
Blacked out front would look heaps better.

Posts: 5 777I am actually liking the alloy cooler. Its not too in your face, but comes down to personal preference i guess.
May 6, 2016 at 9:20 pm #16630Hey guys got another spring this week and fitted it up. Bloody tight i must say. Started the car and loving it. Idle nicely under 1000. Around 750 maybe a lil more. Then drove out my driveway got 500m down the road and clutch at a intersection and idle back up to 1500. Im starting to think a tps sensor so im ordering one this week. Hoping it will fix the problem.
Ha ha if not il buy a new stang. ha ha. What do you guys think of the new mustang?? Been seeing a few of them getting about lately and i dont mind them.
May 7, 2016 at 12:13 am #16632When your idle goes up just jump out and pull throttle back
if that fixes it then you have a bad Spring design, if not then it’s in tune or throttle posistion or something
I will post a pic of the spring I have on myn tomorrow, it’s nothing like the spring you have above
May 7, 2016 at 12:20 am #16633Here is a couple where it can be seen
you want a spring like this, has to be high tensile as well and not affected by heat, can see it’s usually all up tight together and even though it does t look stretched much it is, if I connect this up higher so it’s level with fuel rail it struggles to pull it back

Posts: 5 777Might be worth making up a bolt with a hole crossways through it to anchor the spring. Then use two nuts so you can adjust the free length of the spring. Sort of the same idea as how you adjust the throttle cable mount if you see what I mean. But you can see how many turns are on Pete’s compared to yours. Btw Pete that bay or yours is pure porn!!
May 7, 2016 at 12:55 pm #16656Yeah might look at a longer spring and a differnt anchor point but will try that idea of making it adjustable Gary see how it goes.
May 9, 2016 at 7:05 pm #16717Well guys got a mate at bursons to sort me out a throttle position sensor and wolla my idle problem is sorted idles beautiful around 800 the old one had a split pastic surround. Still maybe a lil high but im gussing its through the tune. So i took her for a spin on the weekend and loving it.
Some small issues are where my mechanics ????? put my temporary catch can its blowing fumes straight back into the air filter throttle so going to move it behind the strut tower coming weekend. Then im going to look at making something for a cold air intake and get the filter down in that washer bottle corner. And a new clutch but that can wait i hope???
Oh and gave her a lil polish too.
???

Posts: 289What is the heat like under the bonnet with the sc?
Mine seems to heat the bay alot, trying to get some cooler air in the bay is proving interesting.
May 9, 2016 at 10:18 pm #16723Cheers Gary and i dont think its much worse than when it was na HDNO5L.
My coolant temp has lowered to almost nothing since i installed the au thermos. And with whipple being w2a intercooled i guess that helps but so far havent been for a long drive (over say 1hr 30mins) yet and my au’s are only running on half on my adjustable fan controller.
So i guess its going well be better once i get a bit of cold air into her instead of soaking up that bay heat. Might be going for a 2 hour cruze on the weekend if the weather is good so might know a bit more by then about the temp???

Yea had one in the states for a day or so, gear box is fucked, drops gears all the time so you want to slowly overtake and its dropping gears making you look like a tool. Sound good like all yank cars, downshifts for u in auto so you get a manual sound when slowing. Kinda cool how it has a line locker standard. But waaaay too much homo fast n furious spec stuf like blue neon back lights in door sills, foot wells and various other places. Projects the mustang image on the ground when you open the door lol. Fun car, but dont think worth the coin here, prefer the camaro.

Brand? Ceramic organic? Button? As I’m looking at some at the moment and want to get something good but want it to last. And want it to take a bit of torque.
May 10, 2016 at 7:28 pm #16762Get a HD organic. Will handle the power better but slip when it gets too much. Saving the box, which I don’t think will last long.
May 10, 2016 at 7:45 pm #16765Had an organic twin plate behind a T5 and my 355,worked well ,rated around 700hp.
Agree with cava,no cerametallic button clutch’s for that box.
