Hi fellas,
As in the title, I’m looking for a way to get the leather looking good again on my steering wheel.
Atm it’s quite faded and worn, especially along the top. I’ve soaked it in dubbin overnight and it did help a lot, but there’s still patches where the finish has completely come off.
Anyone got any other fixes other than getting it recovered?

Posts: 5 777Hey mate, I did mine, came up absolutely spot on, in fact I wanted to leave some wear and tear marks, but if you wanted it could be factory new. This is how I did mine off my build.
Well fitted the finished wheel today, extremely happy with the results. Thought I may as well post some pics, I followed the process CPC posted earlier with the guy on the Brock forum so won’t go into too much detail. Only thing is I didn’t spray at all I used cloths. Personaly I didn’t want it dead smooth, I wanted to keep some of the battle scars but freshen it up. It would be really easy to make it almost like plastic smooth is ya wanted. Some photos
This is the stuff
March 29, 2015 at 7:10 pm #3555That’s awesome! The before pic is about the same as mine if not worse, it looks like it’s new. Exactly what I’m looking for.
Did you buy it from ebay or can you get it in auto shops?

Posts: 5 777From memory I think I bought mine direct but through the Internet. I reckon it was around $70 or so. Really did work mate, you take it back and it looks worse if that makes sense, but then it ends up mint.
March 29, 2015 at 7:19 pm #3557Yer that looks like a new wheel to me, I’m just looking online now. I’ll order some and post up pics when I get it done.
Cheers for that

I think that’s how CPC on the old forum did his, although his was in reasonable shape. Mine was too far gone for that.
March 30, 2015 at 4:00 pm #3606I’ll have a look in the cupboards and see if I’ve got any shoe polish. I’ve ordered one of those kits from ebay anyway, see how it goes!
