Posts: 5 777Hi all, we have been working in the background coming up with a revised forum banner. Like everything it takes longer than expected because we wanted to come up with something that works with the look and feel of the forum. What we have settled on is a bit of a secret squirrel kind of deal but this is how it will work….
There will be 3 images of a single car within it. The idea is its a bit of a “mini feature car”
So we want 3 image of your car, an interior shot, a bay shot and and a body shot.
The whole image wont be used so it wont matter too much if the image has some shadows here or there or whatever.
An example is like mine below, so post up the three pics and we will select a car

Posts: 5 777^they are great too, they will be cropped quite dramatically, so don’t stress too much about the entire picture being perfect

Posts: 5 777So the new banner is up, hope you all like it. Thanks very much to Richard for creating it.
We have made up banners for a few of the cars you posted. We might try and swap them every month or so.

Posts: 5 777I think weekly is a little too much, the banners have to be made up and then put up as well. Besides I really want the members who’s car is shown/featured to get a bit of a buzz out of it for a while. I am actually planning on seeing if we can somehow embed their build link into the image too, so it takes you straight to it
September 29, 2015 at 12:49 pm #9699Monthly is perfect

Posts: 5 777OK so have spoken to our resident web developer guru aka “Georgie” and we can add the hyperlink behind the image, so for example as it is now if you were to click on any of the images of “VS Manta 218’s” car in the banner it will take you directly to his build thread. I reckon that’s a nice feature, so that way if the banner is car you haven’t followed before you can go and easily check it out.
She is pretty busy with uni etc right now, so wont happen immediately though.

Posts: 5 777Should say also, we will get the image resized for the fb page too, its just everyone is doing the work in their spare time so it can sometimes be a little delay.
September 29, 2015 at 4:31 pm #9709Very cool idea mate, looks good. Agree too that monthly is the go unless you could write a code for it to randomly select from 4 or 5 each time a page is loaded then you could have it up for longer.
