Posts: 16Building a 2006 VZ SV6 at the moment, I have owned the car for years, went to trade it in then found a written off R8 so now transferring all the bits into the SV6.
Cant seem to be able to load photos from my iPad?
Anyway, I found a low km 2006 s2 VZ R8 manual so has the AP brakes etc.
Sold all the running gear out of the SV6 and the bits that I don’t need from the R8. I just got the SV6 back from the painters as I had the engine bay painted. I have just gutted the interior out and started fitting the R8 dash so I can have climate air etc, big job fitting the body loom etc.
Whilst in the build I have done the following,
Reconditioned the R8 brakes.
RIP shifter,
Harrop Diff Cover,
Whiteline swaybar, adjustable front, whiteline link pins
BC coilovers,
Headers
Fluted gaurds
NEED TO GET…..
OTR
Diff gears 4.11:1 plus tru trac
Two piece front rotors
Powerbond underdrive
Cam?

This sounds really good, a massive job considering the wiring, computers and dashboard cluster etc all have to be transplanted.
I’ll be watching this one closely
Out of interest, why was the R8 written off??

It’s a big job for sure, I bought my Tonner as a Cross6 and converted it to Cross8 with a 6.0L L98..

Posts: 16Got the dash all in, just finishing the body loom into the boot, fitting the rear parcel tray speakers etc.
This week, finish the loom, then get the suspension bits all painted up, cross member etc. Then under seal and fit suspension, got some Coilovers etc to fit.

Posts: 57Sounds fun mate As for pics, you can upload them to Photobucket (there is an app for the iPad), and once they are uploaded, copy the tags for each pic into your post and they’ll show up.

Posts: 124from that photo it looks like pretty much everything you need will still be in good nick? Except maybe that front right rim.
Otherwise that’s a steal, look forward to seeing progress from this.

Posts: 16The only parts that I couldn’t use were, the dash pad, front seat rail, clutch brake pedal. I had replacement parts for these. The front rim was fine, had them checked and repainted etc, came up great. Promise to get some photos up soon.
Just ordered some K Mac adjustable strut tops today.

Posts: 16New engine, and HSV dash all fitted, took 3 days fitting climate air etc and wiring loom. Car has SS headlights and taillights, since fitted a VZ SS rear boot spoiler and will be fitting fluted gaurds.

Posts: 16Final update on this build was not as planned haha. Ended up buying a W1 and selling all the bits off the VZ that’s the end of that build.
