    Needs wastegate dumping to atmosphere!

Haha yes, but this car will be street legal here in NZ, and will need to have wastegate plumbed back to get certed.

Wait…. You mean to tell me in NZ you can legally register a rollcaged VK with a turbo LSX in it???

WTF i’m moving as of right now… Australia officially sucks in this department….

Yep, will be 100% street legal, just need a motorsport authority card for the roll cage , and all the other modifications are subject to a cert check which includes a brake performance test.

This car will easily comply :good:

Can get a Vk (Calais, if it makes a difference) with a ls1 and a turbo engineered in NSW.

    Can’t do it with a 6L though.

Not done much over last couple of weeks, back into it though.

Firewall notched for downpipe, and started building exhaust.

Last section done 4″ up and over the diff, 4″ muffler.

    Rear view

    Downpipe done

    Intercooler pipes done

Gonna notch the floor, (rear passenger side) to tuck the center section of exhaust as high as possible.

    Floor tubbed for exhaust

Exhaust almost done, just a few mounts & o2 bungs to weld on, tucks up pretty good for a 4″ drain pipe :good:

Got the Exhaust system back from being coated, Pro Coat cermachrome :good:

Had the bumper brackets and battery box powder coated at the same time, came out awesome , look better than new.

Scrapped all the original sound deadening off the interior floor (what a ……. of  a job)

gonna paint the floor while I’m at it, will probably dynomat it at a later stage.

Ditto the beautiful fab work.  Reminds me of the old saying it takes a lot of work to make something simple.  Looks really well thought out, the bay looks so clean.  Love an LS swap, top stuff.

WOW, what a thorough job!! The fab work is top notch :)

+1 for Dynamatting the whole thing, it’s probably at least 50kg of weight (depending on how thorough…) but it will make the car so much better to drive.

Kudos for doing this properly :)

Cheers, will probably dynomat from firewall to rear seat and see how it goes, don’t want to add too much weight as it gonna see quite a bit of 1/4 mile action.

I don’t mind the seats (like them better than Kirkys), but will be having them retrimmed in a colour to match the rest of the interior.
