Rather run a 10 and be full then a 13 and be hungry.

February 1, 2018 at 12:53 pm #25843If you could get injectors big enough to work without having to run multiples it’s not too bad an idea, but here the price is no longer what it was and availability is on the down turn, octane has dropped so it’s not as attractive as it was, I used to run a 3.0L Turbo 6 on LPG and it made 395 rwkw and cost nothing to run!

Posts: 775yes more research is required
February 1, 2018 at 8:51 pm #25847It would be good to spray in the intake to aid cooling. The intake charge.
Like meth.

Posts: 775one Problem with that cava is ,from what I have read doing that with boost it creates back-firing so with the latest technology they can utilise petrol injectors and injected it in a liquid form not a mist
February 2, 2018 at 6:03 pm #25854Yep you don’t want a compressed mixture of LPG/Air and a backfire in the manifold or Blower…
You still get some charge cooling from the phase change as the LPG is injected..
February 2, 2018 at 7:09 pm #25855Lol slight back fire.

February 2, 2018 at 9:16 pm #25857Learnt NOT to cut spark as part of the rev limiter …
Went off like a pipe bomb and bent the bonnet, actually kept running long enough to make it the 4Km back to home.

Posts: 5 777Thats one nice little lesson right there :) Nothing anywhere near as severe (or impressive) but back in the day running LPG on my VL they would backfire occasionally when starting (they just did), but the injection set up was only held down by the centre threaded rod that normally just holds the air cleaner, unfortunately on a Quadrajet the center casting area isn’t particularity strong, so would stretch the body of the carb and stuff up the butterflies being able to open and close properly. Was very common to have to swap to a Holley as they were much stronger in that area. I reckon back in the day there was a guy running lpg on streeter drag car doing pretty good numbers (11’s I think).
February 4, 2018 at 6:34 pm #25859I actually had a burst valve on that intake as well just in case… did bugger all, I think from memory the manifold was 9 litres at 30 Psi so a pretty BIG pipe bomb…
Wouldn’t run a Wet Forced induction intake system again after that just not worth it..
LOL @ the DOA Rochester Gary..
