Cheers lj did you use your existing accessories or did you source other ones if so where from and what ecu are you running thanks
February 24, 2016 at 7:28 pm #14462I built mine on an L98 base before the LSA’s were available as Crate engines, added a stroker kit and a Harrop Stealth Force Blower, Blower cost the same as the LSA so they’re the deal of the decade and you get a much better developed base engine!
E38 ECU, they’re boost capable from the factory so no real need for anything more sophisticated/expensive.

February 24, 2016 at 9:11 pm #14471Crate motor.
The zl1 lid is better. It has a better “Brick” so the cooling capacity is nicer. A different lid looks uglier (IMO) and well costs more money.
February 24, 2016 at 9:44 pm #14478The CTS-V Lid has the bulge to the rear so a better fit in a Commodore..
February 25, 2016 at 5:13 am #14494Yes. Correct it does fit better. But it has less of a cooling capacity. Cost more money and IMO looks uglier.
I rather her a small scoop personally.

Posts: 5 777I personally think all the LSA configs are a bit ugly. If its looks your going for imo they aren’t the way to go, but then that may not be an issue.

Posts: 775Hey all I read on another page that these motor (LSA) have three map sensors this surely can not be right , would a 3bar map sensor be enough, if any one can give me more info would be appreciated
also I’ve looked at custom wiring looms and they say they add diagnostic plug and oxygen sensors ,don’t the ls1 come with this wired in ???? Cheers Frazer
June 8, 2016 at 8:21 pm #17666Yes, 3 map sensors.
It’s honestly easier and only slightly more expensive to stick with the FBW and go either e38 or e67 ECU.
If you want flex fuel e38.

Posts: 322When you have 600hp and running tens with fuck all work who cares how ugly the motor is lol. LSA is definitely the way if you want to engine swap.

Yea and a few bolt on tweaks the lsa making 700hp. Like all blown/turbo stock motors, heaps left in them without going heads and cams etc

My LSx is probably making around 630ish, with a very baby cam and zero mods. Cam change and head tickle I will be around 700 too with instant throttle response and huge low down torque and none of the complication (visual and mechanical) of FI. It just comes down to personal preference. Both work, both are great, LSA just isn’t the only game in town.
June 10, 2016 at 3:12 pm #17698Each has their perks. I’ve done the NA deal and Cbf with it again. Thus why I went boosted.
I want to make 700rwhp not Fly.

Posts: 5 777For sure, no right/wrong way. My eventual end goal is/was 1,000hp fly NA, but that is maybe 750 + 250 hp nos which is sorta a bit like chemical fi. Not sure what that would equate too at the wheels. So what sort of numbers on the 1/4 would that theoretically give you Cav, low 9’s?
June 10, 2016 at 4:43 pm #17704Ive never been one for RWKW. I just want it to run 145mph. Hopefully around 9.5-9.8
so I prob shouldn’t of said 700rwhp lol.
