Bought the gas strut kit for bonnet on my vk, had fit them but won’t shut the bonnet properly due gas strut head was hit between bonnet bracket and the guard..

How I would solve the issue?? Had trying do other way but didn’t work

Does you had this on your early commodore?

Been ages since last done it from memory used 4 ball studs with rear wagon struts…all bolted straight up.

Vaguely remember trying vp/s guard bracket thing which touched inside bonnet.

Try flipping the struts to get clearance. Or just give sheet metal a little flex to cleare it. Can do it by hand. Worked on mine.

Looks same as mine 4 ballstuds threaded in with 2 rear wagon struts…might be fitted upside down, bonnet only closes with them one way iirc
