Posts: 585Picked it up this morning, pretty good job. ECU is mounted high up behind the passenger kick panel, air con box is gone and replaced with a custom duct, fuse box for the motor and stuff is mounted underneath the duct, the other fuse box with the rest of the normal VK stuff is on the right hand side of the steering wheel under the dash behind the small panel, he replaced the wiring and relays for the thermo and fuel pump with a heavier duty setup, wired up a central locking kit, plus other bits and pieces I can’t remember.
got it home and straight into it. Got the whole rear end out, diff, suspension, upper and lower control arms. Pulled the brake lines and callipers off the diff. Took the cover off and the centre looks perfect. Anyone know what a 10 bolt Salisbury with 3.55 LSD centre is worth?
I’ll throw some pics up on Monday.

Posts: 585All the new gear is in, diff, upper and lower arms, springs, shocks, panhard bar. Sits only a tiny bit lower than the old springs, but they’ll probably drop a bit more once they settle.

February 11, 2019 at 5:05 pm #27965Looking really good mate.
Not somehogn that’s absolutely vital. But next time you have the lower control arms out should look at getting them boxed in.

Posts: 585Thanks guys. Was an awesome weekend, really satisfying seeing the wiring done and swapping the diffs, couple of big ticket items checked off the list.
boxed lowers will be on the next round of mods when it’s on the road
February 12, 2019 at 9:40 am #27972Looking good fella. +1 for the boxed lower control arms.
Are you going to paint the undercarriage at all?

Posts: 5 777Just give some thought to using underbody texture coat, comes in rattle cans, so simple to use and comes up looking schmick. But looking great.

Posts: 585Ordered a tail shaft today from Gibson Driveshafts near Newcastle. Should be ready next week. Hopefully throw it in over the weekend, and that’ll complete the driveline.
Anyone have some suggestions on how to mount the trans cooler, and where to run the lines?

Posts: 585Tail shaft won’t be ready until next week. Supercheap had a sale on, picked up some ratchet spanners and p clamps, trying to convince the missus to let me get a new air compressor tomorrow cause mine won’t run a die grinder for longer than 2 minutes and I need to get all the crap off my brake calipers
February 24, 2019 at 2:06 am #28147Just tell her I quoted twice the price of the compressor to do the job for you so it’s saving money, women love a bargain
