Diff has been ordered. Borg Warner with Harrop True Track, 3.9’s, 31 spline billet axles, new standard lower control arms and adjustable uppers from McDonald Bros. Should be ready around middle of next week.

I’m using the factory lower arms, only the uppers are the adjustable ones.

Whats a Salisbury 10 bolt with 3.55 and LSD going for nowadays… hopefully enough to get some new springs and shocks

Sorry spring location is the same. Height is different. I know with the pro9 arms you need a 2.5inch shorter spring.

Does anyone else do tubular arms that don’t require a shorter spring? Was going to go the Pro9’s myself for tyre clearance but with already running Ultra lows in the rear I don’t know that I can get an off the shelf spring 2.5″ shorter…

I have adjustable springs on the rear, XYZ make some, also Pedders.  Rides pretty good.  I think Pete also uses them on his Manta, I assume they work with the 1st gens?  Gives you ride height adjustability front and rear.

Will I need them boxed with the level of power I’ll have? I’ve read mixed opinions on when to get them boxed.

No harm in doing it now. You will be making enough power IMO

Diff is another week away, they’re waiting on some parts apparently. Fine with me cause I’ll be busy with my daughters 4th birthday party this Sat and my twin boys 11th birthday party the following Sat. Plus trying to build a pergola for the missus that was meant to be done before I started working on the VK again. Whoops.

No diff yet. Called the shop and they said they’re waiting on the gear set. Who knows why they told me it was being sent last week, oh well.

Still no diff. Still waiting for the gear set. Have finished a pergola and spent the weekend staining it with my kids help. Was a fun adventure, I was surprised at how much my kids actually done.

Have some good news though, I’m dropping the VK off to the sparky this Saturday to get the wiring done. He’s done LS into first gen conversions before, do any of you guys have some questions I should be asking or requests about the setup I should talk to him about?

Are you using the E38 controller or the earlier controller from LS1? I got gen 4 L98 in my VK. Used the E38 controller which fitted under the wiper plenum and all the fuses, circuit breakers and extra relays I fitted in the standard VK fuse box. Ended up quite tidy with everything out of the way.

I’m using the E38 controller. The sparky is mounting everything under the dash. I’ll check in with him next week to see how it’s going. How did you mount the FBW pedal?
