Gday guys,
Im running the staggered FR1 simmons on my VL and are having rubbing issues.
The rears have been machined to a 52 or 53 offset (cant remember) which is required to fit them and the guards have been rolled.
I am running ultra low springs in the rear so it does sit pretty low.
Even with the guard rolling and the correct offset the wheels are rubbing on the guards but also on the inner guard and the shock shows signs of the occasional hit from the rim/tyre.
Anyone on here had success in fixing this without tubbing and pumping the rear guards.?

June 4, 2015 at 2:39 pm #7480Maybe raise it slightly and put firmer springs in it
June 4, 2015 at 3:03 pm #7481I moved the shock over just a little helped with the fitment a lot and as it has been said before just raise it a little

Posts: 81Do you have an adjustable pan-hard rod installed?
Is it rubbing on both sides or just the one?

somthing tells me it’s going to be an answer you won’t like….
June 5, 2015 at 9:05 pm #7494I suspect the same…. And likely a simple solution to the “problem”

Posts: 101245s on 9.5″ rims must be pretty dam stretched…
looks like you need 9″ rims or narrow diff and mini tubb.
June 8, 2015 at 9:16 pm #7521Na hardly stretched at all.

Then you’ve got some figures wrong… I’ve got 245s on an 8.5inch rim and they look just on flush, if not a little stretched. 245s on a 9.5 will definitely be stretched.
It looks awesome in the above pics, but realistically raising it will be your only real solution without needing some bodywork
June 9, 2015 at 1:48 pm #7538didnt say they werent stretched. just not overly stretched as i also hate that look.
looking like raising it slightly will be the immediate solution and see how that pans out.

Posts: 101You could try some poly air bags inside your existing springs, then you can just pump them up when loading up the car.
Got Drag Bags in my VX , work well – just pump them up when required.
June 9, 2015 at 6:19 pm #7545Having not seen the FR20 1 piece in the flesh, from the pics i’ve seen the dish doesn’t look as highly polished as the 1 piece Simmons? Fair call? I’m actually borrowing one this weekend, so will see for myself.
