Gas struts rear boot lid vh commodore

has anyone done this to their boot i have converted the bonnet and my boot is missing one of the bars that keeps it up, its bloody annoying. I was thinking of just installing some gas struts on the rear boot and problem fixed what do ya rekon?

How hard or dangerous is it to put those boot bars back in?

 

One of mine is missing boot bars also,found a wreck but was alot of tension in those bars..didnt want try it on my own lol.
